It had been almost two weeks since Halloween and school was in full swing again. One term down, three more to go. I hadn't heard from Armin since Halloween which honestly made me a little disappointed but there was nothing I could of done about that. It was Thursday anyway so I would be seeing him after school in the library. Hopefully he would offer me a ride home as well since I jogged straight to school today because Reiner was up all night playing some new video game and therefore had no car. I really hated walking home, ironic huh.
Watching the clock slowly tick down to 3:30 when the bell would finally sound felt like waiting for pigs to fly. Each second seemed to take hours to pass but eventually the bell rang and everyone was free to go home, everyone except me, I still had to go to the library for my study session with Armin. After the bell had rung however, I took my sweet time to get there. He blanks me for two weeks, he can wait ten minutes while I go to the vending machine over by the sports hall because it's the only one that dispenses Dr Pepper.
I rocked up to the library nearly twenty minutes after our usual meet time. He was always late anyway, so what if I was late once? I regret ever having that thought however because when I turned up, pretty boy looked pretty pissed.
"Seriously? The one time, the one time I was early and little miss Usain Bolt decides to strut in, let me check my watch, nearly twenty minutes late."
"Jeez sorry, I'm here now so let's just start."
"Wait don't sit down, we're not studying here today so come on."
"Oh? This is definitely not how all horror movies start."
"Trust me I do not have the time nor energy to murder you roadrunner, though if I did it wouldn't be that hard, there are thousands of ways to murder people and get away with it and I'm a rich white guy so even if I was caught I'd probs get away with it!"
"How romantic."
I hopped in Armin's car hoping what he said was true, and luckily dreams do come true because fifteen minutes later we stopped outside a Dunkin' donut and sure enough there was a big banner outside that said 'Try our brand new milkshake's today, they're dunklicious! Free batch of munchkins with every order!' I guess he wasn't lying when he said he would take me there the other week while we were trapped in the haunted house.
As we walked in I was hit with the smell of fresh donuts. It wasn't too busy luckily, probably only ten people in the entire store including the two kids behind the counter who looked like they were two happy donuts away from shoving their unhappy faces in the deep fat fryer. I told Armin what flavour milkshake I wanted to try and headed over to a booth in the corner of the store and set up our studying shit while he waited for our order to be ready.
When the order was eventually done Armin brought it all over and sat down next to me.
"Here is your milkshake and these mini donut things, now shall we continue with those algebra equations or move on to linear graphs?"
"You know most people usually sit opposite the other person when they sit in booth seats."
"Yeah but how am I supposed to point out your mistakes every five seconds if I'm sat all the way on the other side of the booth?"
"Fine whatever, I think you just wanted to sit next to me."
"Of course! Why would I ever want to miss the opportunity to sit next to the all mighty y/n"
"Haha. Very funny."
I took a sip of my milkshake and oh my. As much as I hated to admit it the milkshake tasted absolutely incredible. It was the perfect consistency for me and you could taste the flavour so perfectly. Thank you Armin for introducing me to this milkshake heaven.
