TYPES OF INTROVERTS.
Introverts are so wildly misunderstood, and thus, the reason for this book. Introversion is a personality, Shyness is an emotion. Knowing types of Introverts and their behaviours will aid a better understanding of introverted people and how to handle them. The following are the types of Introverts:
1. Social Introverts: Also called "Outgoing Introverts". This type of Introvert prefer socializing in small groups and they do it on their own terms. They prefer a quiet night alone to a fun night out. They always ensure that they have enough time to themselves, but will socialize when they feel the need to.
2. Thinking Introverts: This type of Introvert is usually at peace with studying, researching, reading and learning. They like to look before they leap. They like to think carefully and reflect before making decisions. They are prone to getting lost in their thoughts due to their constant retreat into the mental world. They are good listeners, self-aware and introspective.
3. Anxious Introverts: It is important to note that both Introverts and Extroverts can be socially anxious. This type of Introvert are often the reason why Introverts are stereotyped as socially awkward, timid, or shy. They like time alone, not because they like to, but because they feel awkward and shy around people. You'll likely find them at home because of nervousness and fear of stepping out into the unknown which prevents them from stepping out of their comfort zone.
4. Restrained or Inhibited Introverts: This type of Introvert tends to be more reserved and avoidant amongst people they don't really know until they get to know them. They are grounded, often unemotional and full of integrity. They are very controlled and disciplined. They enjoy predictable activities and do things at a methodical rate.
These Four types of Introverts each have their own strengths as well as their weaknesses. If you fall into any of these categories, be proud of your strengths and your weaknesses as you stand out as an Introvert.
Understanding Introverts has been something people have generally scorned at for years now, which brought about the existence of certain Myths about Introverts that are now widely being accepted. Let's take a look at the Myths about Introverts.
