New Friends: The Quest for Power

The Avengers watch silently as Goku hoovers down stacks of various shawarma as if he were a bottomless pit, his friend Piccolo just meditating in his chair with only a glass of water in front of him.

"Hey this stuff is really good by the way!" Goku tells them with his mouthful, the owners of the restaurant watching in the background surprised but smile within knowing they're making a profit outta this least till Goku runs them dry of supply.

"He eats mighty like a Asgardian warrior, I like this one." Thor smiles at Goku's appetite, Goku smiling in appreciation at the good continuing to chow down.

"I just spent $200 already on his stomach, who knows how higher he can go." Tony comments in disbelief as Goku is stacking empty plates and wrappers on his side of the table.

"Trust me this isn't even the limit of his appetite." Piccolo tells the Avengers, their faces stunned and they quietly resume eating their shawarma.

*I'm gonna go broke before this man goes back to his universe.* Tony thinks to himself, considering making ideas to keep Goku well fed without bankrupting Stark Industries.

"Say, you guys know where I can fight against some really strong people around here?" Goku asks after swallowing a mouthful of rice, everyone shaking their heads aside from Thor.

"Goku hate to be the bearer of bad news but this Earth has even less powerful energy signatures than our own." Piccolo tells them and Goku pouts at this but amazes the Avengers at this revelation.

"You're from a completely different universe entirely!?" Tony exclaims, Goku nodding casually as he chugs down an entire bottle of water and tosses it into the recycling bin.

"Yup, plus this isn't my first rodeo with other universes. Me and Piccolo here were in a tournament with multiple other universes and we managed to came out on top." Goku tells them, getting a feeling of excitement thinking about his battles with Jiren.

"Tournament you say?" Thor asks curiously.

"Yep, ten of the strongest fighters from each universe fought in a void for 48 minutes and boy was it intense! The stakes were high and even though defeat was universal erasure we brought everyone back in the end!"

The team goes speechless, feeling a sense of dread at the thought of having to fight for survival against other universes at the cost of not existing at all.

"I think you scared them." Piccolo tells Goku, Goku profusely apologizing to them not wishing to make them feel uncomfortable.

"Look, you all probably won't have to deal with a intense situation like that ever in your lives but let this serve as a reminder that there will be stronger forces out there in the cosmos and you gotta stay prepared for whatever comes your way." Piccolo tells the Avengers to lift their spirits.

"I agree." They all turn to see Nick Fury at the door looking stoic as ever, walking over to the Avengers and their new friends and looks at them trying to get a read to no avail aside from the fact Goku is a naive foodie with power and Piccolo is a serious yet kind-hearted alien.

"Assuming you're the guy who runs things around here?" Piccolo asks Fury.

"Hey he looks like two people I fought in the Red Ribbon Army if they fused together." Goku tells Piccolo, thinking of Commander Red and Commander Black mixed together.

"I'm Director Nick Fury of SHIELD, I am here to thank you both for your assistance and discuss why you're here."

"Well I can answer that easily. See..."

"GOKU WHAT DID YOU DO!?" Bulma screams out at him as he feels the strange machine Bulma made begin to let out electricity and a strange energy that's destroying the room, Goku immediately pushing Bulma outta the room saving her life before a blinding explosion spirals them into this new universe.

"I see, you accidentally got here and have no idea how to get back. Well unfortunately even with our smartest minds it might take some time to return you both back to your respective universe if we can even find it."

"Well I suppose we could stay for a little while, besides I could go find strong people out there in space." Goku groans, Fury feeling concerned knowing Goku will try to pick a fight with Carol Danvers but it's the question of who'll win.

"I'd highly advise not to start fights with people you don't even know sir."

"Call me Goku, plus I can sense energy and speaking of which..." Goku places two fingers on his forehead and closes his eyes scanning across the universe for higher energy signatures and pinpoints just a slightly higher one.

"Goku what are you-"

Before Steve could get a answer Goku disappears in front of everyone, Piccolo chuckling and shakes his head.

"Too late, Goku won't come back unless he wants a good meal or check up on you. Goku trained with the likes of the most experienced masters and Gods, his place is not on this earth since he doesn't have anything of strong attachment here."

"Hopefully we won't need him for awhile." Steve replies, wondering what's in store for the future.
