Ever since then, he's been quiet, almost too quiet. I knew he was plotting something. What? I couldn't tell you. But what I do know, is that it's got to be something big. If not, he wouldn't have been quiet for this long.
"Hey Ricky, what's up man?" Thomas asks, plastering a smile on his face that was visibly different than the one he gave me. A fake smile. So he's not blind. Good. Ricky slides into the booth beside Thomas, giving him a smile that looked exactly like his. I could tell, it was almost comedic how strained it looked and how it didn't even reach his eyes. It was weird.
"Not much bro, how bout you?" Wow, am I invisible. The bitch didn't even acknowledge me.
Thomas seemed to notice this too, looking over at me with kind eyes and a smile. A real smile. Oh good, I'm not invisible. I was starting to get a bit worried there for a second.
"Just hanging with Billy, you know Asher's brother," Thomas replies, raising an eyebrow at me with a playful smirk plastered on his face. He really emphasised the last part. It's like he didn't want Ricky to forget that I was Asher's brother, because that was frankly my only protection. I should thank my brother for being popular more often.
Ricky looked confused, staring at Thomas as if he'd give him the answer. "Who?" He asks, sounding genuinely confused. I can see Thomas trying to hold back his laughter. Fucking dumbass, I'm sitting right here. I clear my throat to grab his attention, him surprisingly turning to look at me.
"Me, are you blind?"
He can't be, how else would he play football? He looks taken aback by my harsh tone but I'd expect nothing less.
"Oh yeah, hey Billy," he mutters, not even looking at me for a second before turning back to Thomas who is still looking at me. His eyes are trailing up and down my body, almost like he's lost in a transe.
"You know, I actually gotta get Billy home, sorry I can't hang Ricky." Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Oh my god I could kiss him right now. But I won't, not yet anyway.
He winks at me, still fucking smirking before pushing past Ricky who looked shocked that he didn't want to hang out with him. I take the hint and scoot out of the booth, standing beside Thomas who was facing Ricky with a small, apologetic smile.
"See ya man," Thomas mutters, not sounding as apologetic as he looked before turning to me and tilting his head in the direction of the exit. I don't hesitate to start walking towards it, Thomas right beside me, so close In fact that I could feel his hot breath on my neck, teasing me.
We didn't stop walking until we reached his car, clambering inside like there was someone chasing us.
Once we're both inside, he starts the engine, slowly pulling out of the parking lot. I can't help but realise how.......sexy he looks while driving. Hell, he looks sexy doing everything.
"Sorry about that B," he utters, when we've pulled onto the main road, "Ricky, well, he's not the sharpest tool in the shed." He turns briefly to look at me, giving me an apologetic look that I didn't like seeing on his usually joyful face.
"It's fine, I had fun anyway," I smile and even though he can only see it out of the corner of his eye, he gives me a small smile too.
"I had fun too. Hell, I don't think I've ever had that much fun in my life," I can't help but agree with him. I mean, spending time with my family and friends was fun, really fun. But, spending time with Thomas felt different. A really fucking good different that I couldn't get enough of.
The car falls into a comfortable silence, the humming of the engine a peaceful background noise to the radio that was playing a Lady Gaga song. I reached over and turned it up, not too loud, but loud enough so that it filled the silence.
