Me and James have just had our first fight. And it wasn't over us, it was over elite and I couldn't even tell him that

I didn't want to fight with him, I hate arguments and it's worse now that it's with James because I never wanted this to happen

We were currently performing our dance for Miss Kate who wanted to see it and just like in  rehearsal it's going terribly. I was messing up the steps and because I was messing it up James was messing it up and it was just overall really bad

Once we was done me and and James stood apart from each other

"Giselle and Thalia are going to challenge you for the duet" she informed us

James: "What? They should've competed for that when they had the chance"

"nationals is just around the corner and you guys are far from ready. The challenge will happen this afternoon"

Me: "This afternoon? How can they come up with a routine so fast? did they plan this?"

"look I have to do what's best for the team. If this is what it comes down to. so be it"

"I can't believe they were planning this behind our backs"

"if you guys want to keep your duet, you need to prove it." Miss Kate walked out leaving me and James in the room

Giselle and Thalia's duet was good. But i know me and James could do better. Except we still weren't talking. I still hadn't come clean but I knew that this is what I had to do to protect him.

"What happened to me the day I got beaten up. I never want it to happen to him, so if this is what I'll have to do. Then that's that"

Once they had both done me and James got up as the music started and immediately we didn't do anything

"I don't want to fight, I don't want our relationship to go this way" I said trying to avoid eye contact with him

"You just have to tell me"

"I promise you, I can't" he shook his head not believing what I'm saying
"You guys can have the duet" I said to Thalia and Giselle
"We don't want it anymore" we both walked off in opposite directions and I rushed off out of the studio where I saw Emily

"I just ruined our relationship" I says and her face dropped
"I think I ruined the whole thing" she brought me into a hug as I sighed

"Your doing what you have to. You can tell him though"

"I can't though, I don't want him to get hurt. If he gets hurt him because of me I'll never forgive myself"

"I get that"

"I couldn't tell him"

We were all watching Amanda, Thalia and Giselle rehearse their small group and it was good but I couldn't help but wonder how it'll go when Amanda goes off to elite

She is definitely going that's for sure but where does that leave us?
