"No, of course not."I said. "Do you think I could live with that?"I asked her, sarcastically. He didn't answer. "But...if it could keep her safe."

"How sure are you that they will not come for her, again?"

"That is why I would still protect her. In a far distance."

"Good luck with that."he smirked. He seems very amused. Then, he stood up and went to the door. Akala ko aalis na siya pero lumingon ito sa akin. A smirk is still on his lips. "Love does make you stupid, is it Montezalde?"

It does.

"I don't know."I smirked. "Ask yourself that question, Smith. Enjoy racing."His smile faltered but he quickly regained composure.

He then opened the door and left and I was left alone in my hospital room. I touch my red gem, similar one to Jewel. I smiled.

I love her so much.

I remember her crying and how it broke my heart to see her in pain. I remember how vulnerable I was when I saw Rex pointing the gun on her forehead. If I was too late to shoot that as*hole, she would have died and her blood will be on my hands.

I could never live with that, knowing that I was too late to save her. Knowing that I was also the one who killed her. And that is why, I have to stay away.

I slowly opened my eyes and was greeted in white walls and the smell of medicine. In that conclusion,  I already know that I am at the hospital.

Jace. Is he okay? Is he safe? I-is he alive?

"Jewel!"

"She's awake!"

"Wait! Tatawag ako ng doctor!"

My friends, kuyas, and mom are here. Mom immediately approached me and hugged me. I grunted in pain and she let go and gazed at me, worriedly..

"Masakit pa ba?"My mom asked.

"A little."I answered.

The doctor had already arrive with Jaydee by her side. Mukhang si kuya Jaydee ang tumawag ng doctor. The doctor approached me and checked me, asked me questions and I answered truthfully. While the doctor was checking me, mom held my hand. Nang matapos akong mag-check ay sinabi ng doctor na magpahinga muna ako.

Kuya James was at the corner, silently looking at me.

"How long was I asleep?"I asked them.

"3weeks."kuya Jaydan answered and I gasped.

"Nasan si Jace?Gusto ko siya makita."I said and was about to leave the bed, but mom stopped me.

"Magpahinga ka muna,anak. You'll see Jace later."Tumango ako sa sinabi ni mama at humiga ulit sa kama.

"I-is he okay?"I worriedly asked.

"He had an operation to remove the bullet on his stomach."I nodded. Suddenly, a nurse entered inside and inject me something to fall asleep. Hindi nagtagal ay sinirado ko na aking mga mata.

I opened my eyes and saw kuya James sitting at a chair at my side. He was holding my hand and he looks like he was crying. Nang makitang gising ako ay nagmamadali siya pinahid ang kanyang luha.

"How are you?"he asked me with a smile at his face, but I know its fake.

"Kuya."

"I'm sorry, Jewel. Hindi ka naprotektahan ng maayos. Kung maaga pa sana ako ay hindi sana ito mangyari."I shake my head.
