Once we got back to the firehouse I didn't know what to do or say

My whole life was in that house

Years worth of saved money

Memories I can't get back

It's all gone

"Rain we're all here for you. If you need anything, we're here" I smiled appreciatively at them

"Thanks guys"

"I know you don't have a place right now. you can stay with me because Gabby moved out about a few weeks ago so now I have a spare room" Brett suggested

"Thanks Brett" she nodded and patted my shoulder before taking a seat on the table I was sitting on. I stared straight ahead trying to process and make sense of everything

"Someone has broken into and set fire to the house of rain Jacob's. Report has come in that it was in fact intentional from another person and CFD is on the case. It comes to the real question though as to why? Rain has showed nothing but compassion and commitment when it comes to saving others and time and time again she's proven it to us. So what was the reason for this? The reaction of the girl today was devastating as she tried to retrieve something that belonged to her deceased mothers in the burning but her fellow firemen made sure she didn't go inside, knowing she wouldn't have made it back out. "No one, especially that girl, deserves what she was put through today and no matter what people think happened, this was not the way to handle the situation. This is channel 4 news, goodbye Chicago" i looked away from the tv with a distasteful look

"I'm gonna go- take a nap or something" I muttered before getting up

I didn't make it past the bathroom before I felt Kelly presence next to me

"I'm so sorry" I shook my head

"It's not your fault" I went to go onto my bunk but Kelly directed me to his office

"What?-"

"You can sleep here" he said. I slid my shoes off laid underneath the covers on his bed before opening the covers to Kelly

He sighed with a small smile tracing his lips and followed my actions before getting in beside me. I immediately had my arms around his waist and could already find myself almost falling asleep just at being beside him

When I woke up from my nap I noticed the empty side of the bed beside me and when I reached out my home came into contact with a piece of paper. I picked up and read it

"Your awake" Kelly said smiling. He walked over to me and kissed the top of my head
