"Basically." Melanie shrugged again as the bell rung. "Rose, can you be a dear and tell them what's going on in class. We save time with that."
"I can try, though it can be difficult." Rose nodded. "I'm still trying to work on my telepathy."
"Good." Melanie suddenly turned to me. "Hector, you go home immediately. We'll meet you there later."
"But..." I wanted to say, but got cut off.
"If you want to help someone, help yourself first." Melanie had her arms crossed. "Now go and excuse yourself by a teacher. Go to Kara if you need help to get home."
With that, she walked off. Kuro and Sherry looked after her, before the blue eyed girl dragged her cousin along to follow Melanie to their next class. Rose sighed.
"I'm sorry for all of this..." She said again. As she began to walk away, mumbling to herself. "We should have told you all sooner..."
My heart sunk further. Was she blaming herself? Lenny watched her walk for a moment longer, before coming up to me. "Do you need help?" He asked.
I wanted to decline, before realising, that maybe I could ask him a few things. "A little bit." I told him. "And would you mind answering some questions? I'm still very lost."
"Of course." He walked next to me and supported me as we both began to move forward.
"What exactly is a dream eater?" I asked the obvious. "Do you eat dreams?"
"Well, that is what it sounds like..." Lenny laughed a little. "My mother called us 'Dream Walkers' before, since she had no contact with others of our kind, or even knew, that others were out there. She was a human first, before she died long ago and came to life again inside a body of water, and realised, she could enter the dreams of others and create things inside of them."
"Wait... she died?" I was confused and Lenny nodded as we began climbing the stairs.
"She doesn't know much anymore, other than that she was kidnapped by a noble man and she struggled against him." He explained. "The next thing she knew was lying in a lake without needing to breath anymore and discovered her abilities shortly after. She doesn't necessarily need to eat dreams to survive, but apparently many of our kind do, so that's why the name."
Listening carefully, I mulled over his worlds for a moment. "You said she was able to create things inside of dreams..." I continued slowly. "Can she take things out of dreams as well?"
Lenny chuckled a little. "She could, if they are physiologically able to exist in this world. She made many things. But I was the only one, who was ever able to leave those dreams."
I looked at him. "Does that mean...?"
"She basically made me up in her dreams." He softly giggled.
Forcing my gaping mouth shut, I swallowed. "Wow..." I started to look for words as my tired brain wouldn't naturally form them. "I had no idea... thank you for sharing that... Thank you, for trusting me."
"You've done so much for me." Lenny smiled at me. "This is the least thing I can do for you."
"But you didn't have to go so far, if you didn't want to." I told him.
"I know." He still smiled and looked at me. "That's why I did it."
I met his gaze, then smiled back. "Thank you, Lenny."
"No problem."
Once he had brought me to my classroom we said our 'good byes' for the moment. I didn't even need to say much to my German teacher. Because when she saw me, she immediately sent me home, leaving me wondering if I really looked that bad. So I packed my stuff and wandered over to the library, wanting to take Melanie up on the offer, even though I had no idea why Kara would help me.
