Y/n's POV

"Okay, its almost off, just brace yourself for a second, this bit could hurt"

I stiffened my arm and tried to stop a wince from showing on my face as Dr. Banner pulled the cast off my ribs, probably as gently as he could

When it was finally off, I gave a sigh of relief. That was the last cast. No more having to just sit down all the time so that I didn't 'make my injuries worse'

"Okay, it's healing extremely well, but still no strenuous acti-" he said, but I took off running before he could finish

"Y/n!" He called after me, but I had spent enough time in that medical ward to last a lifetime

I kept on running, continually looking backwards to make sure Dr. Banner wasn't following me, which is probably why I ended up slamming straight into Clint Barton

"Shit, I'm so sorry Mr. Barton" I said quickly, helping him up

"No biggie, kid" he said, "Where are you off to in such a hurry"

"I dunno actually" I said, stopping. I had been so focused on getting out of Dr. Banner sight that I didn't really think about what I was going to do afterwards, "Probably just something fun"

"I got something for you" he said, sounding excited, "Follow me"

I followed him down a couple flights of stairs and we took so many lefts and rights that I lost count

"Okay, close your eyes" he said, as we finally stopped at two huge doors

"Okay" I agreed, but my trust issues made me keep one of my eyes half open, and I saw that we were going into what looked like a huge archery range

"Open them!" He exclaimed, sounding super excited

I completely opened my eyes this time, and got a good look at the place. There were tons of targets on on e end of the arena, including human shaped ones, and on the other side there were bows of every shape and colour.

"Bows?" I asked in surprise

"Bows!" He exclaimed, "I'm turning you into the world's first mini Hawkeye"

I nodded and went over to the bows. I had always wanted to know how to use a bow and arrow. That's one of the only weapons that we didn't master at Hydra, because they thought it was useless, but I had always found them pretty cool

"Okay, so this is my personal favourite" he said, pointing to a classic Hawkeye bow that he would probably use in battle, "But it's a bit big for you. We'll probably give you this one." He decided, picking up a much smaller, way less cooler bow, but I just rolled with it

I gently held the bow, which felt quite comfortable in my hands, until Mr. Barton started laughing at me

"What?" I asked defensively

"You're holding it the completely wrong way" he said through a laugh, "Here" he explained, positioning the bow properly in my hands, and I ha to admit, it felt better than before

"Now, you stand like this" he said, pushing my legs into the right stance, "And you aim the bow"

I nodded and put the bow close to my face, aiming for the heart of the human shaped target in front of me

"Don't shoot yet" he said, "You know where this is going?"

I nodded firmly, adjusting my grip slightly, to make it even more likely that the arrow would end up in the heart. Aiming a bow and arrow was a hell lot like aiming a gun.

"Can you see?" He asked

"Yeah" I said firmly

"You sure?" He repeated
