Tony's POV

"Fri, d'you see the kid?" I asked the AI, flying around the area

"Miss L/n appears to be sitting on the fire escape at Delmar's Bodega"

I flew over to see the kid eating a sandwich from the Deli below and holding a ripped part of her suit to her bleeding leg.

"Hey kid" I said, flying up next to her

"Hey" she replied, her moth full of sandwich

"When did you have time to get a sandwich?" I asked

"I got it before I texted you," she said, "I was hungry"

"So after getting shot, your main priority was getting a sandwich instead of getting help" I said sarcastically

"They have the best sandwiches in Queens" she replied defensively

"Of course they do," I sighed, "we should get beck to the compound, I'm not getting any younger"

"How're we going to go?" She asked

"Like this" I said grabbing her by the arms and flying off

Y/n's POV

Mr. Stark picked me up and flew off suddenly. My amazing number five sandwich with pickles and smushed down flat fell out of my hands.

"Hey!" I exclaimed, "My sandwich!"

He ignored me and continued flying. Rude much.

We reached the Compound in a few minutes and we got off on the roof.

"Let's get you to the medbay" he said, taking the Iron Man suit off, "Can you walk?"

"Of course I can" I said

I took a few wobbly steps and then my leg gave way and I fell to the floor.

"Okay, maybe I can't walk" I said

"Mhm" Mr. Stark said smirking

He helped me to the lift and we went down to the medbay. Dr. Banner was there, with a few other people in white lab coats. Mr. Stark helped me to a bed.

"Okay, to take the bullet out, we're going to have to have to give you an anesthesia" Dr. Banner said.

"What, you mean like an injection?" I asked, my eyes wide with fear.

I've always hated injections. Ever since Hydra, I couldn't stand being near them.

Dr. Banner brought out a large needle, full of a weird looking medicine. Horrible memories began to play in my head.

They had strapped me to a machine which was supposed to 'improve' my body and supposedly mimic the super soldier serum given to Steve Rogers.

"Den prozess beginnen (Begin the process)" One of the scientists near me said

The machine began to close around me and the metal strapping me by my arms began to give me micro injections that hurt like shit. I yelled in pain but the process was still continued. I thought it was finally over, when they removed me from the machine but the scientist who had spoken before came up with a large injection that he stabbed into my arm. I had never felt something like that. The pain was white hot as it burned my veins and--

"Earth to Y/n. You with us?" Mr. Stark asked, snapping me out of my thoughts

"Yeah" I said quietly

"Does it have to be an injection though" I asked Dr. Banner with pleading eyes

"Yeah, I'm sorry but there's no other way to use the anesthesia." he said

"Fine" I said, reluctantly

To steady myself, I grabbed the the thing closest to me, which happened to be Mr. Stark's hand.

He didn't pull away.

I held my breath and looked away as Dr. Banner injected the medicine into my arm. The injection hurt, but not as much as Hydra's. When it was finally over, I toke a few deep breaths to calm my nerves. I suddenly began to feel really weird and sleepy.

"What's going on?" I asked Dr. Banner sleepily.

"Did I forget to mention that the injection also puts you to sleep for the procedure?" he asked sheepishly.

I was about to make a sarcastic retort but my eyes didn't want to stay open and the room slowly faded to black.
