The Night They Met

Adonis’s POV

People are swaying; music is booming; and lights are flashing. It was Adonis's twenty-sixth birthday, and he wanted to be anywhere other than at the club. He was only there because his best friend, James, dragged him out and told him he needed to relax and have some fun.

Adonis remained in the VIP section, sipping his scotch and watching everyone go by, until he became bored and headed outside into the back alley for a smoke.

He lingered there for a bit before he heard yelling from within the club. Then the door swung open, revealing the most stunning woman he had ever seen.

She stood around 5'6", with doe eyes and shoulder-curly brown hair, and was dressed in a black lingerie set that complemented her olive tan skin. She had full lips, a button nose, and a mole under her left eye.

He had no idea how long he had been staring at her until he heard someone clear their throat. He finished his cigarette, glanced up at her, and said, "Hi."

She glanced at him sceptically for a moment before responding, "Hello."

They just stood there looking at each other until a chilly wind swept through and she began to shiver. When Adonis noticed this, he removed his coat and offered it to her. She was apprehensive at first, but eventually took it and put it on.

"Can you tell me your name?" he inquired.

"Astraea," she said.

"It's my birthday," he added. He had no idea why he said this and face palmed himself internally.

"Happy birthday," she nervously said.

Astraea’s POV

Astraea had no idea why she was entertaining the stranger, especially after what happened the last time.

He was certainly one of the most handsome men she had ever seen in her twenty-two years of life.

He looked like he was about 6’0 or taller with pale white skin, jet black hair that fell at the sides of his face, and he was wearing a dark blue suit.

But then she said, "My shift is over. Do you want to go somewhere to celebrate?"

She looked at him. He looked surprised at her request, but smiled and nodded.

Adonis escorted her back inside the club, and while Astraea went to change and grab her stuff, he made his way to the VIP section.

As Astraea entered the changing room to retrieve her belongings, she realized she was going out with someone she had never met before.

But, again, she was simply looking for a good time, so she didn't give it any consideration.

She left the changing room after getting dressed and gathering her belongings and began looking for Adonis.

After a while, she noticed him coming out of the VIP section.

"Are you ready to go?" she inquired when he arrived.

"Yes," he responded, offering a soft smile.
