Regret

Adam woke up on the floor.

He had slept on the floor while crying for the last two weeks.

His life was a fucked up mess.

He had lost two of his most important best friends and now that Nathan found out about what happened, he wanted nothing to do with it so he ghosted Adam.

Adam was cleaning the mess that had been sitting there ever since the fight and got a message from Nathan.

Adam was devastated and cried on the couch.

He had hated him self so much and all of this was all his fault.

He had no one to blame.
No one at all this time.

He got up and wiped his tears.

He poured himself a bowl of cereal and watched his shows.

He had never felt so cold and lonely before.

Without Levi, Adam was nothing.

Adam missed the mornings when he and Levi would cuddle on the couch and eat breakfast while watching the Tv together.

Levi woke up and lied in bed on his phone all morning.

He had old tissues from crying and his room was a mess.

There was piles of dirty clothes and trash all over the floor.

Amber knocked on the door and came in, "Hey Levi... how are you feeling?"

"Not great. My ex cheated on me and played with me and now I'm to tired and weak to even get up to go use the bathroom. What about you?" Levi tiredly mumbled.

Amber felt really bad for Levi and Adam.

Amber went to visit Adam cause well, he was still her best friend since they were kids.

She knocked on his door and Adam opened it, squinting his eyes from the bright sun.

Amber walked in and saw that Adam was not looking too well.

His living room and kitchen was clean but his room was a mess.

She just wanted both of her friends to be happy. She started with Adam first.

"How about we go out for some breakfast? You know, get out the house for a bit." Amber suggested.

Adam sighed and agreed, he knew that he desperately needed some sunlight.

They got ready and went out to ihop!

They ordered their food and surprisingly Nia also happened to be there! Amber started talking to her and she noticed Adam was also there and wasn't looking the brightest.

Nia was curious as to why he looked so upset but didn't want to disturb him.

Adam felt awkward after the fight they had the last time they talked.

Nia was doing great in her life.

She was single and loved herself and had great grades for school and is going to medical school soon.

Nia felt bad and couldn't help but wave to Adam with a smile awkwardly.

Adam waved back with a fake smile turned away and just scrolled on his phone.

Amber invited Nia to sit with them and she kindly took the offer.

She sat down in the seat and ordered her own food and drinks.

Adam was enjoying his eggs when Nia started up a conversation as amber was in the bathroom.

"We happen to be here together again huh?" Nia chuckled.

She tried to be nice to try to get on decent grounds with Adam.

Adam didn't even want to look at her.

"I'm sorry Adam." Nia said as she looked away.

Adam didn't expect her to say that, "Uh- what for..?"

"For the fight we had. I didn't understand what you were going through and I was kinda being a total bitch." Nia confessed.

Adam smiled warmly at her, "You weren't being a bitch! You were just in love like how I was and you were right, I was jealous but I just couldn't admit my feelings while y'all were together.
I felt so guilty and just wanted Levi to be happy. But now I'll never see Levi happy ever again." Adam said.

Nia was confused by that last sentence, "What do you mean? Aren't you and Levi like insanely in love?"

Adam sighed, "Not anymore. My idiot self fucked everything up."

"How..?" Nia asked

"I cheated on Levi with an old friend. And I regret it badly and Levi broke up with me and we haven't talked since."

Adam was tearing up.

Nia was devastated, "I'm so sorry about that Adam. But why did you do it? Was it worth it Adam?"

"No. It wasn't. If I could I would go back in time and change my actions."

Nia wasn't happy with Adam but she didn't want things to get worse.

Amber came back and they were chatting and finished their food.

Amber was paying as Nia and Adam were waiting outside.

"Can I have Levi's number if you still have it?" Nia wanted to check on Levi and see how he was doing.

Adam surprisingly still had it and gave it to her.

They went home.

When Nia arrived home she messaged Levi.

Levi saw the message and smiled, saving her contact.

To be honest Levi did kinda miss Nia. She was a great friend but just not a girlfriend.

He messaged her letting her know he was trying to move on and that he was doing fine and wished her a good night.

He put in his AirPods listening to music and turned off the light, covering himself in blankets as he cried himself to sleep, trying to silence his cries of pain.
