CHAPTER 26

"It's not a date."

"If you say so."she shrugged her shoulders. Papunta na din siya sa kusina upang kumain. I already ate in the early morning and cooked breakfast for them. Mabuti nalang hindi pa gising sina Sapphire at Natasha kasi mas lalo akong inisin sa kanilang mga teasing sa amin ni Jace. Halata naman na hindi talaga kami para sa isa't isa. We're like Yin and Yang. Totally different people that should not be together. Besides...we hate each other.

Napatingin ako sa labas ng marinig ko ang isang pamilyar na busena ng isang sasakyan. That means Jace is here. I grab my hand bag and opened the door.

"He's here. Alis na ako."I shouted to Amber.

"Sige. Good luck sa date niyo!" Pahabol niyang sabi bago ko sinara ang pinto. A scoff escape my lips.

I walk towards the car and the door suddenly opened, revealing Jace inside. I entered his car with a smile on my lips and gazed at the back of the car, expecting Jessie to be there. But...she wasn't there.

My smile faltered and immediately gazed at Jace, demanding for answers. But he was already looking at me. Did he prank me or something? Did he do this so I could get in with him? What is he planning? Did he lied to me?! No, he wouldn't. Even though he is such a prick, he would never lie...to me. He wouldn't even use Jessie for...this. He loves Jessie. I can see it in his eyes.

"I thought Jessie would be with us."I said. A hint of doubt in my voice.

"She's already there."Jace answered and gazed at the road. He started the engine and we drove off. I sighed out of relief. Why am I even overthinking about him? I think this is because of Amber's teasings that I became paranoid over Jace. As if he wanted me to be his date. I scoffed. Napatingin si Jace sa akin na nagtataka. I coughed and immediately changed the topic. Baka ano pang iisipin niya sa akin.

"So manuod ba ang parents niya?"

"Nope. They're busy."he answered, coolly. Too cool. Too casual. I felt my lips dry and I immediately licked it. "Usually I'm the one who watch her." I gaze at Jace and I saw a small smile appeared his lips probably thinking of Jessie. I felt my heart swoon. Mahigpit ko napahawak sa hand bag ko.

It's nice to have someone in your life...and watch you do the things you love. To give their time even if they are busy or tired.

"Well atleast she has someone."

Nang makadating na kami sa venue kung saan sasayaw ng ballet si Jessie. I noticed that there were a lot of cars and people walking around. Jace and I got out of our cars and we entered inside the venue. I looked around and it looks like a classical theme with all the chairs lined in a stadium like watching a movie but instead of a big screen, its a stage infront.

Luckily, we could see Jessie better since we are closed to the stage. As we took our seats and the play started. I started in awe as Jessie presented infront. She looks so cute. She smiled when she saw us and I waved my hand at her. I look like a proud parent as she danced infront. Naalala ko dati na nahihiya raw siya sumayaw sa harapan pero ngayon ay sumasayaw ito na parang walang pake sa mundo. She even has that bright smile on her face. Hindi ko namalayan ay napahawak na pala ako sa kamay ni Jace habang nanunuod kami. I felt Jace gazed at me and squeezed my hand, reassuringly.

I never let go of his hand.

After the performance, Jessie ran to us wearing a white croptop with a unicorn in the middle. She also wore her leggings. May dala din itong bag kung saan nakalagay ang costume niya.

"Hi Jessie."

"Hi ate Jewel!"She shouted and hugged me. I picked her up and spun her as she squealed in enjoyment. I put her down and levelled myself in her height.
