So Nailah came up with a plan. One that only Henry and ( if she was there ) Khadija knew about. Her powers. Nailah had been hiding her powers very well, thanks to Henry's help and even though he didn't know about her plan until it was too late, she had to do it. So one night when Yasmeen had extra time in the Rainbow room and Naila was supervising, something happened. One of the games began to tilt and was about to crush an oblivious 4 year old Yas. So Nailah threw her arm out and shattered the game of the opposite wall.
Brenner saw it all, just like Nailah planned and from there Brenner trained her as well. Not with the children though, one on one. It kept his focus away from Yas, that's all she wanted. Henry hated what Brenner was putting her through, was she becoming more powerful as the days went buy, yes. Did he push her beyond her limits? Also yes.
To the children she was another guard and Henry's best friend. To Brenner, she was Americas biggest asset and weapon.
That's how it was for a little while.
Until Yas and Eleven turned nine. It's all been a blur. One moment everything is 'peaceful' at the lab. The next Nailah and Yas watch Henry murder the other children, then watch eleven kill him. The nine year old tells her best friend and the closest woman to run and leave before Brenner gets there. So after an emotional goodbye, they ran. Promising to come back for her one day.
That was seven years ago. Since then Nailah has legally adopted Yasmeen, stayed in Hawkins to figure out how to save eleven. Found eleven, fought Papa, fought monsters and brought down Hawkins Lab once and for all.
For a couple months it was nice, peaceful actually. But Nailah couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched, constantly. By someone or something. If she was being honest, after all the monsters and demons she's seen, she wouldn't be surprised if something came after her.
Over the past couple months, since the Byers left Hawkins, Nailah has been having this constant aching feeling that something was going to go wrong, that something evil was coming.
She wasn't wrong.
Something as coming, Nailah could feel it and so could her powerful daughter.
They just never expected it to be him.
So what happens when someone from their past returns, causes carnage in their home and reveals a horrible secret?

- She planned how to escape months in advance and left when Yas was around 3 ( so around 1976 )
- She left because she was scared but regrets leaving her best friend and daughter
- Nailah though that Yas was one of the daughters of Khadija and one the other guards

- The reason they stayed in Hawkins was to try figure out a way to save eleven
- Ever since they were babies El and Yasmeen have basically been sisters
- During the years they lived in Hawkins, Nailah became the owner of the store that El 'robs' in season 2 ( that's how she confirmed that she was alive ), so money wise her and Nailah have been pretty stacked
- Yasmeen befriended the Party when she first got to Hawkins
- while Nailah Isn't Muslim, I was thinking because I'm using Iman as a fc there's someone in Hawkins who almost helped Yasmeen with that 'practice'

- She learned and loves DnD
- She learned how to play the electric guitar from Eddie ( they play it together in the upside down)
- Nailah is best friends with Joyce ( they're iconic lmao )
- When Joyce found out that she had powers at first she was scared but accepted her when she found out how she got them
- Since then ( season 1 ) their friendship has been extremely strong
- DUSTIN AND YAS ARE SO CUTE
- you can chose when they started dating
- I was low-key thinking S3
- Like she could be part of the scoops troupe
- She was also the most excited and happy person when Dustin got back
- She's had a crush on him since they were kids and so did he
- He was the first person to make her feel comfortable when she first started at the middle school ( which was a few months after her and Nailah escaped )
- He always makes her laugh and it's adorable
- THEY ARE ADORABLE
- But generally Nailah and Yasmeen are very protective over everyone
