Episode 10: Burning pasts and Bursting flames

Cappy stared at Lighter after he finished his story. All he could do was mutter "I'm... So sorry... God CB sounds like a dick..." Lighter chuckled"Well.. they did lose everything in one day. Their mom, dad, friends and family and me." Cappy stood up "That gives them no right to kick you! Especially when you were already hur-... They never fixed your eye...?" Lighter chuckled "I... Never let them. I wanted to remember what I had done. I felt like Ma... Er... Teacup bailing me was her refusing to punish me so... I punished myself. I gave myself the constant reminder of what I had done." Cappy was shocked. "...Lighter... I..." "It's okay. Don't worry.

The next morning:

Everyone was told to go to a nearby mountain for today's challenge. When they got there Flower pointed out "Is that... Smoke? Is someone doing a campfire!?" RazorBlade pointed out "This is... This is a volcano. Isn't it?" Vintage rolled down the mountain "It sure is!" Broom pointed out "Gosh! Are you okay!? I don't think limbs are supposed to bend in any way they did while you were rolling!" Vintage chuckled "Nah it's fine. Oh! And just so you all know Cookie is out tod-" Cali snarled "ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? WE'RE ALREADY SET BACK SO MUCH! IT'S LITERALLY JUST ME AND LIGHTER!" "That brings me to my second point! After today I'll be rearranging the teams! Making sure to do the best possible matches based off your character interactions!" So remember that! Now... This challenge is simple! First team member to climb to the top of the mountain AND find the secret hidden treasure chest! The team to find it first wins and the first team up the mountain will be the second winner! The team that does none of them will lose! There are pickaxes and rope over here! On your marks... get set... Go!"

Things were going well and nothing interesting was happening. Besides Bottle having to remind Cappy to keep his eyes on his team and not Lighter. Until finally Cali made it to the top "WOOHOO! SAFE! HIGH FIVE LIGHT-" Cali noticed Lighter was glancing over his "shoulder" at Cappy before Cali (gently) shoved him "Hey dingus! We won! Stop focusing on them! Come on! Let's go relax or something."
Things were going fine with everyone looking for the chest besides Lighter and Cali. When suddenly Flower saw something in the distance. She ran over to it and pulled a box out of the ground "I FOUND IT! I-" just as she said that the ground started to crumble beneath her. Cappy noticed this and ran over. Headbutting her out of the way. But causing him to call in the lava. RazorBlade ran over to Flower "OHMYGOD! BABE ARE YOU OKAY!?" Flower stood up "CAPPY!" Everyone ran over. Screaming. Lighter took a deep breath "There's no time to get help! I'm going in!" Before anyone could stop him he dove in.

As soon as he dove in he realized "I'm not melting... This burns but... Wait... I'm being dragged down!" Before they were sucked into a metal vat. When they came crushing down onto a stainless steel floor. They clenched their head "Why does everything smell like oranges..." Cappy ran over "Holy shit are you okay?" He helped Lighter stand up "Mhm... Yeah... What's going o-" he looked over and saw Cookie glaring at them. Next to a wall of paper that said "S̶e̶c̶r̶e̶t lab!" Cookie took a deep breath. Turned towards the huge piece of paper and tore it off the wall. They tore it to shreds using their teeth and claws. Before glaring at Lighter and Cappy "OUT." And pointing at a door. Cappy and Lighter just walked out in silence.

They pushed a large rock aside causing it to roll down the volcano. Cappy called out "Hey! Me and Lighter are alive!" Everyone ran down. Asking them what happened. If they were okay etc. Before Vintage called out "Hey!" They turned around to see him standing behind them "I was watching everything via cam-" Flower (Unintentionally) interrupted "What smells like Fanta-!?" Cappy piped up "Oh yeah. The volcano has Fanta in it. Not Lava." There was a pause "I think if I had fallen in I'd rather have it be lava." Vintage cleared his throat "Anyways... I was watching via hidden cameras around the volcano! Team Grass and team fire won! Meaning team water is up for elimination! And next episode we'll be organizing the new teams!" As they were walking down the mountain Cappy muttered to Lighter "Hey you uh... Wanna meet up by the cliffside again and chat...? It was nice talking to someone more down to earth for a change." Lighter smiked and whispered back "Oh...! Yeah, sure." Bottle glared at them from behind.

Later that night
Vintage cleared his throat "You all know the dealo!"

Broom stood up "What!?" Pillow sighed "It's fine... I haven't done much anyways... You be careful. Kay broom?" Broom nearly cries as he picked pillow up and carried her to the portal giving him one tight squeeze before sitting her down "Be careful, love." Pillow planted a kiss on Brooms forehead "I will... You promise not to overwork yourself. Kay?" Broom nodded. Grabbing her hand "Of course." Pillow started walking through the portal. Checking once behind his back to see Broom. Smiling with tears in his eyes. She smiled as he walked through the portal.

Deep in the woods:
Broom walked towards a clearing, lit by firefly lights being charged by a generator. Flower smiled "Hey BB! What took so long! We grabbed Uno!" As broom walked closer flower noticed something "Wheres Pillow...?" Broom looked away as a tear rolled down their cheek. Raz and Flower looked at each other "Oh..." Broom sat down. He grabbed a beer from the cooler and sighed "Deal me."

By the cliffside:
Lighter smiled "So... Tell me about yourself!" Cappy sighed "Well... I was born a runt. And being a runt missing their arms was tough. I was bullied a lot by my siblings. But than I met Bottle. It was like we completed each other. She was tall and strong and had all her limbs. But she was scared of everything and couldn't form a plan to save her life. Meanwhile I was small and frail. But incredibly smart for my age. So we were a troublesome, reckless duo. As we grew up we were never apart. It was kind of like we needed each other. But I... I went too far... I'm sure you saw that." "Yeah but... Teacup used to say something too me. "The past is the past. You can't change it. But yoy can keep looking forward and pave a better path." That helped me work up the courage to come here and well... Meet you! So I'd say it's pretty smart." Cappy smiled "Yeah... I'd say so." There was silence between them for a bit. Before Lighter noticed Cappy kept glancing at Lighters arm "It's okay if you want to ask about the scars on my arm. They don't bug me as much anymore." Cappy perked up and looked away "Sorry I... I didn't want to be rude..." Lighter smiled "It's fine. I know they can be kind of... Attention grabbinf. I just haven't had time to cover them." Cappy muttered "how'd you get them." "You don't have to be nervous asking me about my past. It's okay! And well... I mentioned how they didn't punish me by not making me go to juvenile detention so I... Punished myself." There was a small silence between them. Before Cappy sighed and pulled down his leg warmers to reveal several cuts. Some looked new while some looked much older. He muttered "Well we have at least one thing in common." Cappy glanced over at him "Just curious... How long have you been clean...?" "I think a little less than a year now. You?" "...15 hours." Lighter recoiled a little "Oh..." Cappy paused before asking "How... Did you stop...?" "Well I... I got a better support system. And whenever I wanted to cut myself I'd call them and we'd chat. Or I I didn't feel like I could chat I'd vent to them and they'd comfort me and come help me out. They'd usually swing by with pizza, hide all my knives, sharpeners and razors and help calm me down." Cappy smiled "I'm glad you have such awesome friends." "...Do you have friends...?" "Nah. Not really. I always just come off too strong I guess..." Lighter paused before smiling "Well you have me now. If your ever feeling like that you can ca- One sec!" They grabbed a piece of paper and started writing on it before handing it to Cappy "Here! It's my number. Go ahead and call me if you ever want to. Okay?" Cappy was left breathless for a moment before smiling "I will... Thank you."

Cookie:
Cookie dropped some green liquid on a bee. It feel to the bottom of the small jar before it got right back up and started glowing green. Cappy smiled "Finished! Finally!" They continued doing this to several different bees. Before handing them to their "new friend". Cookie smiled "How will this help me...?" "It'll help me help you." "I guess so understand replacing them with bee's but... Why glowing bees?" "I'm... Scared of the dark. Why do you think I had Firefly's constantly in my jar?" "That's fair." FL opened their jars and threw the bees in. The bees instantly started killing the Firefly's Cookie chuckled "Well... Guess your not a Firefly Lantern anymore? What would you be? A Bee ja- nope.
