CHAPTER 01

She immediately fished her phone and texted someone. Ilang minuto ay bumalik siya sa office ko.

"Bahala raw po kayo, hindi niya raw po gagawin ang bahay niyo," balita niya.

Napanganga ako. Wow! Buti nga siya, may pagkakakitaan eh, tapos siya pa ang mag-iinarte?

"Objection, your honor!" I slammed my hand on the table.

I bit my lower lip to supress my laugh when the judge almost jumped from his sit.

"That has nothing to do with this case! That was only a word of insult", I eyed the prosecutor coldly.

The judge cleared his throat. "Please, be warned."

The prosecutor sighed in defeat. He continued saying absurd things that has nothing to do with the case! Puro panlalait lang naman sa akin ang sinasabi niya.

"Not guilty."

I smirked when the verdict was announced.Hindi na ako nagulat.

"Salamat po, attorney," my client held my hand.

She's a fifty year old woman. She was accused of stealing on a convenience store. Mabuti nalang, naisipan niya akong kunin bilang attorney niya.

Palabas na sana ako ng court room nang may tumawag sa pangalan ko.

"Iris."

"Huwag mo sabi akong tawaging Iris. Close ba tayo?" I raised a brow.

The prosecutor laughed. "Porke nanalo ka , ang tapang mo na?" tanong niya.

"Kailan ba ako hindi nanalo?" I asked back.

Well, it's true. I was just twenty six when I became a lawyer. And I never lose a single case. It has been one year already.

He eyed me sharply and walked away when he realized that he couldn't say anything.

Noon pa 'yan may sama ng loob sa akin, eh. Kasalanan ko bang napapagalitan siya dahil lagi ko siyang tinatalo?

I raised a brow as I stared at the high building in front of me.

Pumasok ako sa elevator at pinindot ang numero kung saan ang floor ng Engineer na iyon. Wow, feeling gold ah.

Pagbukas ng elevator ay bumungad ang mga nagtatawanang tao. I guess they're also engineers.

They stopped when they saw me. They scanned me from head to toe with their mouth parting.

"Si Engineer Arellano?"

Sabay sabay na gumalaw ang kanilang ulo at itinuro ang lalakeng mahimbing na natutulog sa maliit na sofa.

Halos hindi na siya magkasya roon. Nakatakip ang kaniyang braso sa kaniyang mata. Humihilik pa siya!

Akala ko ba marami siyang ginagawa?!

I took a deep breathe to stop myself from throwing water on his face. Kung hindi lang siya ang kilalang Engineer ay hindi ko na siya tinawagan pa!

How did he became well-known with that attitude? Ako pa talaga ang papupuntahin niya rito tapos natutulog lang? Samantalang ako, ang dami dami kong kailangang gawin!

I crossed my arms and walked towards him. Everyone was silently watching me, probably wondering who I am.

I glanced back at them and they all cleared their throat. "Attorney Guiñarez," pagpapakilala ko.

"Hi, attorney!"

"Pwede mo ba akong ipaglaban?"

Agad silang naghiyawan na siyang nagpainis sa akin. When they saw my serious face, they went silent.

"Engineer," I stared down at the man peacefully sleeping. Bukas pa ang tatlong butones ng polo niya. Wow, feel at home ah.

"Engineer," I said and he just groaned.

"Engineer Arellano!" hindi ko na napigan ang pagtaas ng boses.

"Ano ba 'yan! Ang ingay!" he suddenly murmured.

Aba't?

I was about to smack his arms when he removed it, revealing his handsome face. Naiwan sa ere ang aking kamay at bahagyang umawang ang labi.

Namumungay ang kaniyang kayumangging mata na sumalubong sa akin. Matangos ang kaniyang ilong at manipis ang labi. I thought I was in a museum because he's totally a work of art!

"Am I dreaming?" napapaos niyang tanong.

"Do you want me to kick your balls so you would know if you're dreaming or not?" I shot a brow.

He chuckled. Nagulat ako nang bigla niya akong hilahin dahilan para mahiga ako sa ibabaw niya.

Rinig ko ang singhap ng mga taong nanonood.
