"It's always been the same, hasn't it?" She questioned, a glitter in her eyes.

"Hm? What do you mean?"

His hand froze mid air. A moment of silence followed and the clock stroke 12. He didn't bother retrieving his hand; he kept it in the same position, up above his head, almost covering his face, as if he was trying to hold the skies from falling.

Their classes were bound to start, once again.

"Your struggles."

Her reply came in late. Way too late for him to even have any more time to counter the blow his frail heart had just received. He blinked a few times, trying to recover, trying to find the right expression to show off, the right mask to wear. But it was all in vain. It was too late.

She had already read him way too well and way too quick. He had no escape but to cope with the thought that his innermost secret had been found. Unless, he could fool her.

He opened his mouth, as if to say something, but all of the words he was about to utter died on his lips.

"There's no denying I'm right." She interrupted, as she sat up and walked away.

No, there wasn't, so she was right. He couldn't hide it any longer. At least, not from her.
