I walked quickly through the grass. Cleo sat licking her paws. Her ears flicked up. " Luna! " she shouted. I emerged out of the bushes, with my tail curled around my legs. Cleo gave a odd glance to my fur. I looked down. Sap droplets stuck on my tails and legs. I hastily started licking myself. " Sorry about that, Cleo... " I said. I could feel my face getting hot. Cleo gave me another awkward look. " Umm.... " "Bye Luna... " Cleo said as she walked away into her house.
I walked through the bushes in a sulky mood. The prickers tore at my fur. I didn't care. When I returned home, Monah started licking me again. Monah was a gray and black tabby. Even though she was not my mother, she sure acted like it! I gave a slight yelp and retreated to the back of the couch. My human, Antigone, walked up to me and started to stroke my fuzzy back. I purred and came out of my hiding place.
The very next day I returned to the bushes. Suddenly I heard a clicking of nails on a hard wooden floor. I of course thought that Cleo was coming out, but I guessed wrong. A giant slobbering monster ran up tp me. I gave a startled yelp and ran for Cleo. But she was nowhere to be found. The monster picked me up by my scruff and carried me off to it's lair.
When we arrived inside, I saw where Cleo had taken cover. Under the coffee table. Her bright yellow eyes were in slits as she glared at the monster. Cleo's eyes opened wide when she saw me. Within five seconds, Cleo had jumped on top of the monster and had her claws at it's neck.
The monster gave a worried whine and hopped up onto the sofa, and hurried off. "Your welcome!" Cleo said, full of pride. I gave a small smile as she walked in cocky circles around me. "Thank you." I said. Cleo was very happy about saving my life. I waved my tail as a goodbye as I walked through the bushes home.
