Chapter 3: A Pleaded for Help

Chad knew about Jessica Fletcher helping the police with their murder investigation. Chad thought about looking for Jessica. Chad knew that Jessica lived in Cabot Cove. Chad looked online for Jessica's address and phone number. Chad calls Jessica. A woman answers the phone. "Hello, Jessica Fletcher's residence," the woman greeted Chad. "This is Chad Singer. I need to speak to Jessica Fletcher," Chad requested. "This is Donna Fletcher. I am sorry my Aunt Jessica is in England. One of her books is being made into a movie," Donna replied. "Do you know when she is getting back?" Chad asks.

"I am sorry I do not. If you leave your phone number, I will make sure she calls you," Donna offered. "Thank you," Chad replied. Chad gave Donna his phone number. Chad did not know what he was going to do. Chad needed enough evidence to win Dana's appeal. Susan came walking into the kitchen. "Were you able to find Jessica Fletcher?" Susan asks. "No, she is in England making a movie," Chad replied. "We need to find a way to prove my sister is innocent. Dana did not kill her husband," Susan replied. "We are going to prove your sister is innocent," Chad assures Susan.

Jessica

Jessica was writing the screenplay for the movie when Donna called her. "Aunt Jessica, a man named Chad Singer called and he wanted to speak with you," Donna told Jessica. "Did he say what he wanted to speak to me about?" Jessica asks. "No, he did not," Donna replied. Jessica ends the conversation with Donna. Jessica wonders what Chad wants. Chad Singer and his wife Susan were in her class in New York. Jessica knew that Chad got his law degree. Chad also wrote a book that Jessica proofread and edited. Jessica has not seen Chad for years.

Jessica called Chad. "Hello, this is Jessica Fletcher. My niece told me that you call," Jessica inquiries. "I know you are busy with the movie. My sister-in-law Dana Rollin was falsely accused of murdering her husband. Dana was found guilty and she was sent to prison," Chad replied. "I heard about Dana Rollin. The police had a lot of evidence that she was guilty," Jessica replied. "Dana was set up and she did not kill her husband," Chad replied. "I believe you Chad. I am going to do what I can to help you, but I cannot make any promises," Jessica told Chad.

I call my Aunt Jessica. "I was thinking about writing a book. I have not decided if I am going to write a romance or mystery story. I thought about writing them both to which I am better at," I told Aunt Jessica. "I think that is a great idea. I could also use your job. One of my students named Chad Singer needs my help, but I cannot help him. Chad's sister-in-law Dana Rollin had been falsely accused of murdering her husband," Jessica explained. "I heard about Dana Rollin on the news and a lot of people think she is innocent," I replied.

"I will be glad to help Chad prove his sister-in-law is innocent," I replied. "Thank you. I can help you over the phone," Jessica replied. My Aunt Jessica gave me Chad's phone number. I wanted to do research online before I talked to Chad. I saw that Dana's supporters have a social media page about her. I look up the information that supporters post on the social media page. The police had already made their mind up that Dana was guilty. Some people think the police set up Dana to protect someone else.
