Chapter 3

"Lady Pfeiffer we've arrived."

I was out of thought kaya hindi ko napansin na mabilis lang kaming nakabalik sa palasyo. My dress is still soaking wet, very heavy. Inalis ko na ang tuwalyang nakatabon sa ulo at balikat ko.

The knight from earlier offered me his hand. Hindi ko iyon pinansin at nagtuloy ng baba. That's so girly, I can handle myself.

That, I said, pero dahil sa basang damit ko ay na out of balance ako, nakita ko nalang ang sarili ko na napasalampak sa sahig. I look up at the knight. Darn. Did I just see him grinned?! Agad na tumayo ako, wala akong pakialam sa mabigat na laylayan ng basa kong damit, mas mabigat pa dito ang pride ko. Pinagpagan ko ang kamay ko and glared at him.

"You're fired." anas ko sa kanya.

"You can't my lady." Nakayuko niyang sabi.

"And why not?" taas kilay kong tanong.

"Cause I serve the emperor."

I scoffed in disbelief.

"Just you wait for my enthronement." I smirk as I walk heavily. Damn this dress. I should request a pair of pants instead of this one.

"You cannot walk like that, my lady!" Biglang sumulpot si Ruth looking so bothered. She shout-whispered those words. Napahinto ako sa harapan niya.

"Why? Am I supposed to crawl?"

"No, my lady."

"Then I'm fine." I gave him an assuring smile and tap her shoulder at magtutuloy na sana sa pagpasok.

"No Lady Pfeiffer you can't do this." mabilis niya akong hinarangan, but dude I play basketball and know this moves to escape a blocker of the defensive team.

I step from left to right then to the left again and rotate myself to escape her block. Then shoot. 3 points! I thumbs up to her.

"Lady Pfeiffer!!" naiiyak na sabi ni Ruth. Kinindatan ko lang siya.

Habang naka krus ang mga kamay sa dibdib ko ay tiningnan ko ang kabuuhan ng building. The ceiling is quite high. Is this victorian architecture? Whichever it is, life is nice!

Napamata ako sa malawak at malaking hagdan. A grand staircase indeed. Dito ba ako galing kanina? Where is my room again? Where should I go? That way to the left? This way to the right? Urgh. My stomach grumbled.

"Ruth, where is the kitchen?" Lingon ko kay Ruth. She looks to the right side.

"This way my lady." turo niya sa left side.

"OH!" turo ko sa kanya. "I see... Then let me eat first." I walk straight to the right side of the huge manor.

"No! Lady Pfeiffer hindi ka puwedeng pumunta diyan!" Hinatak ako ni Ruth pabalik.

"You just look this way, so let us go this way, are you lying to your lady now, Ruth?" Pilit akong humahakbang pero nanghihina ata ako lalo na ng may ibang katulong ang tumulong kay Ruth na pigilan akong humakbang patungo sa kanang bahagi ng palasyo.

"No, it's just that my lady's kitchen is also here in the left wing!"

"Why is that? May nakakahawa ba akong virus? Nakaquarantine ba ako? Bakit kailangan sa iisang lugar lang ako?" I used all my force para humakbang but I can't.

"Are you trying me now?" huminto akong manlaban. Agad naman na bumitaw sila. Humarap ako sa kanila.

"You. All of you. Are you still gonna do this? I will become an empress days from now? Should I fire each of you or should I just behead you?" I try to threaten them. Hindi naman sila agad nakaimik.
