I arrived at school and my classmates and I were directed to a waiting room in the festival arena, to say I was excited would have been an understatement. We all got on our gym uniforms and were waiting for the call to go out into the arena.
"I wonder what they have in store for us in the first round" Sato wondered aloud
"No matter what they've prepared we must persevere," Tokoyami said
'indeed'
"Everyone, get your game faces on we're entering the arena soon," Ilda said as he entered
'game time'
"Midoriya" Todoroki said as he approached him
"Oh hey Todoroki what's up," Midoriya asked a little nervous
Everyone's attention was now on them and I couldn't help but be curious about what Todoroki had to say.
"From an objective standpoint, I think it's very clear that I'm stronger than you," Todoroki said
'oh dear what's going to happen '
"yeah" Midoriya responded
"However you have All Might in your corner helping you out. I'm not here to pry about what's going on between you two. But know that I will beat you" Todoroki said shocking Midoriya
'so I'm not the only one that's noticed their connection.'
"What's with all the declarations of war lately" Kaminari wondered
" It's a major competition Kaminari everyone's on their toes," I responded as I stood up
"That also goes for you Laufey I will not lose to you again" Todoroki added
I simply looked at him and smugly smiled
"I'll gladly take on the challenge" I responded
"What's the big deal why are you guys picking fights all of a sudden, right before we get started too," Kirishima said as he stood between us
" We're not here to be each other's friends don't forget this isn't a team effort," Todoroki said as he walked to the door
"Wait a sec Todoroki" Midoriya stopped him
'what cha got to say bud'
"I don't know what's going through your head, or why you think you need to tell me that you'll beat me, and yeah of course you're better than me, in fact, you probably have way more potential than anyone else in the hero course. That's why you got in so easily" Midoriya said
"Midoriya maybe you're being a little hard on yourself and us," Kirishima said
'let the man speak'
"No, he's right you guys. All the other courses they're coming at us with everything they've got. We're all gonna have to fight to stand out, and I'll be aiming for the top too" Midoriya finished
"Fine" Todoroki said
'Glad to hear it, buddy'
We were then called out to start walking into the arena and I could hear Present Mic's voice calling from outside.
"Let me hear you scream as our students make their way to the main stage" Present mic announced as we entered the field
"Welcome back to the U.A. Sports Festival where up-and-coming heroes will leave everything on the field as they fight for the chance to achieve worldwide fame and celebrity. This first group are no strangers to the spotlight you know them from withstanding a villain attack they're the dazzling students teeming with solid gold skills that's right it's the hero course students of Class 1-A" Present Mic Introduced us to the crowd
