Welcome, readers and thanks so much for your interest in DOGWOOD!
The inspiration for this novel started with an image of a girl sitting under my favorite tree, and a feeling that the dogwood was more somehow. It has evolved over many years and many drafts into a story that's sort of a mashup between THE HOST and THE GIVING TREE. ;)
