Gone

Chapter 3

He's here. Tony is here at my door. I open the door, and come to face the most amazing smile I have ever seen. For a moment, my brain is frozen.

"Hi," he says,"you ready to go?"

My brain starts working just enough for me to smile. "Yep. Let's go." We walk to his car. It is a black Ford truck, shiny and new.

" For my lady," he says, opening the passenger seat door for me.

"Thank you." My voice sounds timid. I need to work on that.

As we drive down the road, I become more and more comfortable with him. We start up a conversation about the teacher in our Biology class. Soon, we are laughing. I don't realize that we have been driving for 15 minutes already when we pull into Longhorn. I freeze. "Um, I really don't have enough money to go here." Ugh, I am so embarrassed.

"Don't worry, I'm buying"

"Thanks" I am liking more each second I am with him.He takes my hand, and we walk into the restaurant.

After a nice dinner and friendly conversation, we walk into the movie theater. We buy two tickets for the movie "Fun Love" and get our popcorn. We enter the theater. Tony takes my hand and pulls me to the back of the theater. I am a bit nervous. It is pretty dark. Is he gonna kiss me?

The movie starts, and the theater is plunged into darkness. The movie is funny, and I am glad. I love hearing Tony's laugh. About halfway through the movie, he takes my hand in his. I stiffen, but I quickly relax. His hand feels warm and right. I look over at him. He smiles. He leans over, takes my face in his other hand, and kisses me. It is quick and gentle. After, I lean my head on his shoulder. I really like him.
