"There's a weird pleasure in loving someone who doesn't love you."

It was a lunch break, and Kiara had managed to jot down a series of words. As she had completed her sandwich, the cell rang, forcing her to answer the dialler. "Aditi?" She frowned yet answered the call. Aditi had never called her at such an hour as everyone was aware it was her office hour. If she had something urgent to share, she would usually text. Messaging was their usual source of communication.

"Hello!" Kiara hesitated for a minute before the usual excited source spoke from the other hand.

"Aditi has something to tell you." It was Dhruv speaking. Her brow further knitted in confusion.

"Dhruv?" Before she could voice herself properly, Aditi was speaking from the other hand.

"I apologize, Kiara. I didn't mean to hurt you with my words." Aditi sounded guilty. "I was just trying to help you but I get your point if you don't want me or anyone to indulge in the matter and want to shut it off, then it's fine." It seemed as if she was trying to use appropriate words. As she kept pausing frequently and wasn't acting like a carefree soul she was among her bunch of friends. That suddenly made Kiara concerned, had she acted so rudely? Had her manner forced Aditi to act so cautious?

"It's fine, Aditi." Kiara paused for a minute longer. "It wasn't your fault, I had acted cruelly." She confessed, "I knew you were just getting worried about me but I had to act like insane."

"No, it wasn't..."

"Fine! We can debate about whose fault was it later." Dhruv interrupted Aditi in between. "Inform her about our latest plan."

"Plan?" Kiara asked getting curious.

"Yes, all of us are going on dinner tonight. It would be so much fun." Aditi was back to her enthusiastic spirit. "So, should we pick you up directly from your office or...?"

"Wait for a second," Kiara considered it for a moment. She had planned a movie night with Yami, they had even booked a ticket. Yami was sitting across her with an inquiring look in those orbs. If Kiara gave her a reason, she would understand but the question was, did Kiara want to spend another night around them, around him?

She was searching for distraction and dinner along with her friend, where the topic of the wedding would return every minute wasn't a solid plan. "Actually, Aditi..." she hesitated for a minute. She had never brushed off their plan for something else. Her friends were always her priority. "I had made some other plans..." she paused a minute longer waiting for a reaction. She was aware that her words would upset them.

"Oh..." Aditi sounded calm.

"What plans?" It was Dhruv who was highly concerned.

"Hmm... Movie night with..."

"Hey, Sweetheart... finally some time off from work." Came an exhausted voice of the stranger, who had carried himself towards their desk. "What! don't stare at me with those beautiful gazes?" He had a smirk playing on his lips as Kiara was shooting him daggers. None ever had annoyed her to such a level except Dhruv.

"I will call you back..." Kiara rushed off, hanging the call.

"Don't you think, you can't keep on flirting with strangers? That kinda makes your impression worse." Yami questioned having a sip of her juice.
