My phone has been getting blown up by Matt, saying that Vicki's mom is back in town. She's not my mom, so I don't really care. But she does mouth off to Caroline and makes out with Tyler which leads to a huge fight so I don't want her here to cause any trouble.

Later at night, I fix up my hair and makeup and head to the Mystic Grill for the charity event.

I walk over to the ticket booth that Caroline is at.

"Hey Caroline! How are you lately?"

"Hey! I'm doing really good actually."

"And you and Matty?" She blushes. "Awww"

Matt walks up and gives her a kiss on the cheek. "Awww"

"Stop, Vic."

"Okay. Um Caroline, one ticket please."

"Really Vic? The raffle?"

"Oh shut up. I'm single aren't I? I'm over 18."

I hand her the money and she hands me the ticket. I look at the number, it looks familiar.

Suddenly, my "mom" walks over.

"Vicki honey!" She pulls me into an awkward hug. I pat her back.

"Hi" like what do I say to her?

"Hi Mrs. Donovan!" Caroline chirps politely.

"Elena!" She pulls Elena into a hug next. When did she get here?

"Hi Kelly!"

"Long time no see."

"How are you doing?"

"Oh, same old." I walk back over to Caroline. "Oh. Matty tells me you broke his heart."

"Mom."

"Just kidding. Calm down. He found his rebound girl." She glances at Caroline. She visibly deflates.

"Don't be a bitch mom. Matty likes her, you have to live with that." We stare at each other before she breaks off eye contact and hands Caroline money for tickets. Caroline hands them to her and then Kelly walks away. Awkward.

I sigh. "Thank you." Caroline says quietly.

"My moms always been a bitch, don't let her words get you. Plus, you're with Matty now and I like you." I put my arm around her shoulder. "I think we are going to be great friends, you and I."

Jenna, Elena, and I are sitting at a table while Carol Lockwood is doing a little interview for the bachelors. When she gets to Damon, he starts talking about Alaric's wife and Elena storms out.

A little while later, Carol is calling off the raffle numbers. Kelly gets the plumber.

She calls Alarics and funny enough, that's Jenna's. That's cute.

"And bachelor number 5, Damon Salvatore. 37552."

I smirk and stand up. "That's me."

"How wonderful."

I walk over and take the ticket from her hand, pulling Damon out of the door.

We go to the boarding house.

"You don't have to feel bad, you know. You didn't kill her, you turned her."

He pours a bourbon and Alaric walks in with a stake.

"Are you really this stupid?" He asks as he turns to look at him. "Guess so." He downs his glass.

Damon throws him across the room. He jumps back up and gets into attack mode.

"You gonna put down the stake?" He rolls his eyes. "Wow, that's courage."

"Where's Isobel? What have you done to my wife?"

"You want me to tell you I killed her? Would that make you happy? Because I think you know what happened."

"I saw you feeding on her." Damon circles him.

"Yeah. I did, and I wasn't lying. She was delicious." His lips curl into a smirk.

This sets Alaric off, he lunges at Damon with the stake. But Damon hits him, stopping him.

"Oh, come on. What do you think happened? Not an inkling? Never considered the possibility? I turned her."

He groans. "Why?"

"She came to me, all pathetic, looking for vampires. There was something about her, something I liked. There was something special."

"You turned her because you liked her?"

"No, I slept with her because I liked her. I turned her because she begged me to."

Alaric lunges at him once more. Damon takes the stake and stabs him instead, killing him. Temporarily.

Damon sits down next to me, I hand him a new drink. "He's not dead."

"What? Didn't you just watch me kill him?"

"He has protection." I say cryptically.

About an hour later, Stefan comes in, seeing Alaric's dead body.

He rushes over. "What happened? What did you do?"

"Dude, what? He attacked me."

Stefan sighs. "Damon."

"All he did was tell him the truth. Don't worry he's not dead."

"He doesn't have a heartbeat, Vicki."

Alaric awakens, gasping for air. "See, told you so."

"What happened?" He asked.

"You died, then you didn't." I smirk.

"How."

I hold up my hand signaling to one of my many rings. He looks at the ring on his hand. "Isobel."
