Joong-Gil choking random people must be the hottest thing I've ever seen lol
------------------------------------------------------------
Joong-Gil approached them, while one of the reapers from the escort team explained the situation.
- She has seen the soul, but she doesn't know where it is.
- The soul you lost. - Koo Ryeon replied.
- She was once one of our team. - Joong-Gil said, looking at her. - You know what I will do if you don't hand over the soul. She wouldn't hide it. Right, Boss Koo?
- As you know, I am in the business of saving people. And she is a piece of our case. I can't give her up.
Joong-Gil looked at Koo Ryeon, irritation visible in his gaze.
- Such arrogance! - he said.
Si-eun blinked as she saw them disappear, and then watched wide-eyed as she saw that Joong-Gil had pushed Koo Ryeon against the wall and was hanging her with one hand.
Walking in quick steps, Si-eun tried to think of some way to help her boss, and when she couldn't think of anything useful, she did the first thing that came to her mind.
She kicked him, shouting:
- Let her go!
Everyone looked at her in shock. And honestly, Si-eun was also surprised at what she had done.
Turning away from the man, she hid behind Ryung-gu, who tried to get away, but was stopped when she grabbed him by the arm.
Tilting her head to the side, Si-eun saw Joong-Gil looking in her direction, furious. But her plan had worked, because he had let go of Koo Ryeon.
Looking at the other grim reapers who had witnessed the scene, he ordered them to call more reapers to scour the area.
Before leaving, he cast one last glance at Koo Ryeon, and then at Si-eun.
Si-eun and Ryung-gu had gone after Jun-woong and the Spirit, finding them hiding in a property.
- I still can't believe you did that. - Ryung-gu said, peeking through the window as they both entered the house.
- Neither can I. - She grimaced. - I don't know how he didn't do anything to me.
Jun-woong, who had been startled when they entered, thinking they were grim reapers after the ghost, approached Si-eun.
- What did you do?
- I kicked Mr. Park. - she said, feeling her cheeks flush.
Jun-woong's laughter only made her more embarrassed. She could feel her face flush again.
- The escort has arrived. - Ryung-gu announced.
The grim reaper turned and snapped his fingers.
Si-eun looked startled at the spirit, who fell unconscious into Jun-woong's arms.
- What the...
- You killed her! - Jun-woong exclaimed, despairing to see that the ghost was not breathing.
Si-eun rolled her eyes, standing on tiptoe and slapping her colleague on the forehead.
- She's already dead!
He looked at her, finally realizing what he had said, and scratched his head, feeling ashamed.
Looking out the window again, Ryung-gu snapped his fingers.
- I've hidden it from them for now.
The spirit sat up, surprised, and then thanked him.
- Can you really save Koo Woo-jin? - he inquired.
The ghost confirmed.
After they explained the whole situation to Koo Ryeon and she agreed to help, the quintet left the house they were in, but stopped when they found a group of reapers waiting for them.
Ryung-gu stepped forward, closing one of his hands into a fist.
Si-eun looked at her colleagues, watching them leave, and then decided to stay with the reaper and help him. Well, to try to help him.
She watched as one of the reapers from the escort team tried to hit Ryung-gu, who dodged and hit him with a frame he had picked up off the ground.
Looking away, Si-eun almost screamed as she saw a woman coming towards her, trying to hit her with a punch.
She ducked, and then stepped on the stranger's foot, forcing the heel of the boot she was wearing to hurt the woman. Hearing her groan in pain, Si-eun pulled her by the hair, and then pushed her back.
Ryung-gu approached her, and only then did Si-eun realize that all the other reapers were also lying on the ground. Holding her by the wrist, he snapped his fingers and carried them to the hospital in which Woo-jin was admitted.
Si-eun blinked. She still hadn't gotten used to it.
Ryung-gu looked back, and only then did she realize that they were not alone.
Behind them was Na-young. And in front of them, Joong-Gil was looking at them.
Oh, shit.
- Get out of the way. - he ordered.
- I'm sorry, but I can't do this.
Ryung-gu ran towards him, trying to hit him with a punch.
Taking advantage of the distraction, Si-eun turned to the ghost.
- Go save your husband.
Assenting, Na-young turned, entering the hospital.
Just as she was about to follow the spirit, however, Si-eun heard a noise and looked back.
- Ryung-gu! - She gasped, taking a few steps forward, watching the two reapers fight.
She was scared. She didn't know whether to worry or not. Well, they were dead, so there was no danger of one ending up killing the other during a fight. But... it was hard to convince her brain otherwise.
- Knock it off! - she shouted, moving closer, trying to think of a way to stop it.
They were moving too fast. And it's not like she could fight or like she had their strength, so she wouldn't risk getting in the way, because she would surely get hit.
Losing the little common sense she had, she bent forward, taking off one of the boots she was wearing and aiming at the nearest reaper.
When she saw that she had hit Joong-Gil she laughed humorlessly, intimidated by the look he threw her.
He let go of Ryung-gu, and when Si-eun blinked she was pressed against a wall, being hung by him.
She swung to her feet, realized she was suspended in the air, and put her hands over his. She was running out of air. Her vision began to blur and her eyes watered.
- You are very wrong if you think that this is the only price you will pay for hiding a Soul Runner, aren't you, Mrs. Koo?
- Let her go! - Si-eun heard Koo Ryeon's voice. - Their boss is out of skills. They are only following my orders.
Si-eun felt her body being thrown to the ground and groaned. Her neck was extremely sore, as was her throat.
She coughed repeatedly, and took a deep breath, trying to catch her breath.
She was startled when she felt Jun-woong holding her gently, trying to get her to sit up.
- Are you all right? - he asked worriedly.
Without answering, she blinked in an attempt to wipe away the tears that had formed in her eyes, and looked at Joong-Gil. He gave her one last look before disappearing along with Koo Ryeon.
