I don't know how this works in the kdrama, since they didn't explain it, but neither Si-eun nor Jun-woong can see their own red threads, because they're still alive.

------------------------------------------------------------

Si-eun had already been working in the prevention team for a week. Although, most of her work was dealing with paperwork, which she suspected was Koo Ryeon's way of punishing her for the little argument they'd had during Eunbi's case. But luckily, she was already starting to get along with the duo.

Sitting in front of her boss, Si-eun watched her fill out some papers until something caught her eye.

- Uh? What is it? - she asked, her forehead slightly furrowed in curiosity, pointing to the red thread that adorned one of Koo Ryeon's wrists.

- Don't you have work to do?

- No. - She smiled. - I've finished everything.

The reaper sighed, returning her attention to the papers.

- So? - Si-eun insisted.

She looked at her boss anxiously, but before she could receive a reply, Jun-woong entered the room.

- Why are you here? - Koo Ryeon looked at him, frowning.

- I decided to go back to work here.

Si-eun stood up, walking towards Jun-woong and smiling.

- Really?

Seeing him nod, her smile widened, and she hugged him tightly.

- That's great. I missed you. - she said as she walked away. - You don't know how boring it is to have only her - Si-eun pointed in the direction of the reaper. - and Ryung-gu as company.

The woman looked at her, huffing and rolling her eyes.

- Why don't you switch teams, then?

- You know I love working with you! - she said, in a fawning way, and pouted.

Si-eun approached the woman, in an attempt to hug her, but was surprised to see the place where she was now was empty. Blinking, she looked to the side, seeing the reaper beside Jun-woong. Si-eun opened her mouth in shock.

Jun-woong laughed, and upon noticing Koo Ryeon smile slightly, Si-eun smiled too.

- You don't know how I missed you! - Si-eun exclaimed. - When I found out you had gone to the editing team, I thought about going there and dragging you back to the prevention team.

Jun-woong laughed, shaking his head.
- Listen, - Si-eun spoke after a while. - have you noticed that Koo Ryeon has a red thread around her wrist?

- Did you see it too? he asked curiously.
She nodded.

- I tried to ask her what it means, but I couldn't get an answer. Do you know what it is?

Jun-woong nodded positively.

- She once told me that people destined to find each other have a thread that connects them, and that way they will always find each other, no matter what.

Si-eun was silent upon hearing that.
She had never imagined that something like this actually existed. She wondered if she had a red wire connecting her to someone.

Her thoughts were interrupted when Jun-woong turned around, whispering to her:

- There's a ghost in here.

Si-eun leaned her head back, and when she realized that what he said was true, she looked at him again.

- I think she knows that we can see her.

Jun-woong's eyes widened and then backed away, trying to hide it when the woman approached them.

Having to pinch her lips to keep from laughing, Si-eun walked toward her colleague, ignoring the spirit that approached them.

- You're not very good when it comes to disguising.

Jun-woong looked at her like he was going to retort, but he didn't. Instead, he ignored it when the spirit spoke to them, and turned toward the front desk of the cafe where they were.

- Is my coffee out yet? - he asked the attendant.

Si-eun rolled her eyes upon hearing the spirit say repeatedly that they had seen her, and directed her attention to the window in front of her, watching the sky.

- What a beautiful day.

Jun-woong followed suit.

Through his peripheral vision, she noticed that the ghost was gone. Si-eun looked at her friend as if to confirm she was right, and then they both turned.

Jun-woong screamed as the ghost screamed, in an attempt to scare them away.

Si-eun looked at him out of the corner of her eye, mentally judging him.

- Why did you yell at me? - he asked.

- I knew you could see me. You're the ones who save people who are about to kill themselves, aren't you?

- How do you know that?

- Got it right? - the spirit asked excitedly, celebrating.

Si-eun laughed when she saw Jun-woong and her clapping excitedly.

- You know that others can't see her, right? - she asked him, who cleared his throat, stopping clapping.

- But where are the others? - The ghost looked around. - The tall, beautiful woman with the short hair, and the man in the eccentric clothes?

- They're nearby. - Jun-woong replied.

The three were standing in complete silence, facing the other two reapers with some trepidation.

- Don't you know how dangerous it is to get involved with a fugitive soul? - Ryung-gu gave them a lecture.

- We know, but she knew about us. - Jun-woong tried to explain.

- Can you please help me? - The spirit asked, looking at Koo Ryeon.

- You're already dead. You should have gone quietly to the afterlife. You ran away and now you want help?

- I can't go to the afterworld like this.

- Ma'am, try to hear what she has to say. - Si-eun said, looking at the team manager.

- No. - she replied, looking at Ryung-gu. - Warn the Escort Team before they blame us for this.

Ryung-gu took the cell phone but stopped when he heard a noise coming from it. He looked at Koo Ryeon.

Si-eun imitated the reapers, taking out her cell phone and realizing that the noise was a notification from the app they were using.

One more case.

The ghost approached Si-eun, looking at the victim's profile on her cell phone screen, and started to cry.

- It's my husband.

Si-eun looked at the spirit, feeling sorry for her when she noticed two unknown reapers approaching.

Seeing them, the spirit fled, and Jun-woong ran after her. Debating what to do, Si-eun decided to stay with the other two reapers.

- A Soul has been on the run for ten days. We got a signal that she was here. Did you see her? - One of the women asked, showing the screen of a tablet to the trio.

- Yes, I saw her. But I don't know where she went. - Koo Ryeon spoke.

- Hey, don't try to interfere with our work.

- I'm not lying. I said I saw her, but I don't know where she is. It is the truth. - she answered.

Si-eun watched Ryung-gu argue with one of the reapers, scolding her when something caught her eye.

A few meters away, another reaper was approaching.

Si-eun could have sworn her heart missed a beat when she realized it was Park Joong-Gil.
