Chapter Thirty-Three (New Chapters)

"Wouldn't that just be scary? Lucian and Stella?"

"Anything is possible, they're both popular and good looking"

"Is that all that constitutes a good match these days?" Mikayla asked, sarcasm in her tone,

"Yup, pretty much" Blake couldn't help but smile at her friend's disgusted-looking face at her response.

"By the way, how are you not shivering? It's freezing out here" Mikayla claimed, rubbing her arms above her long sleeve shirt, hugging into herself to keep the heat she had.

"Because, the weather isn't near as cold as my soul" Blake responded, stumbling when Miklayla knocked her shoulder, shaking her head.

"Don't give me that ridiculous bullshit" Blake watched Mikayla wave her hand, submissive to Blake's claim "The day you have a cold soul is the same day that Lucian and Stella get married and have flying pigs at their wedding"

"Hey-" Blake grabbed her shoulder "Scientists could discover flying pigs five minutes from now, and Lucian and Stella are already engaged"

"No, Blane and Lucy are engaged now" Mikayla retorted

"Just like Jace says he and you are engaged" Blake responded with a laugh

"That little fucking twit" Mikayla cracked her knuckles, "I'll pummel his ass"

"Can you just promise me that when you consummate the marriage, you won't be on the same continent as me?" Blake asked

"You expect us to move continents?" Mikayla retorted, raising an eyebrow

"And to think I thought you would deny it would ever happen" Blake teased, letting out a laugh. Mikayla always knew how to cheer her up.

"Ughhh, whatever" she waved it off "let's just go inside" Mikayla grabbed her arm, dragging her back into the school building. The class was nearly over, and as soon as Mikayla opened the door to the auditorium Blake could see the other students talking and goofing around, as they did near the end of every class. Blake pulled the pack of gum from her pocket, placed a little purple block on her tongue, and started chewing, watching as Stella ran towards them at their approach.

"Did I do good?!" Stella asked, grabbing Blake's shoulders and shaking them with a smile on her features "Oh my god! It was like seeing my future with my own eyes!" Blake just laughed, letting Stella pull her close like a rag doll "Do you think he likes me?" she whispered "I would so go out with him!" Blake could see him, sitting on the edge of the stage with the other few boys in the class.

"I don't know" Blake responded truthfully, taking a back step when Stella pulled away "I'm sure he probably does though, all the boys like you"

"I'm going to ask him to hang out with me today!" she said excitedly

"You do that" Blake responded, watching as her bubbly friend went running back towards him. She lifted her head, realizing he was already looking at her sent a shock through her spine. Usually, she would have found her eyes drifting away in submission, but for some reason, she didn't feel like it that day, not with him. So, they held eyes for a few moments, tense moments, until Stella barged in and took his attention and she was quick to snap away. If it makes Stella happy, who am I to stop it?

It wasn't until after school, waiting for the van to the group home to pick her up that Stella approached her

"He wants to know if you'll be there" her eyes widened, startled by her words. Oh god.

"Well, tell him no" she responded quickly.

"But, he says he wants you there!" she claimed, pleading clear across her tone "Please do this Blake! For me?" Blake knew she clearly wasn't ready for this by any means, but she also knew that she wasn't good at saying no to anyone, especially not Stella. She just sighed, slumping her shoulders

"Fine" she gave in

"Sweet! We'll come to get you at six" panic struck her

"Today?!" she asked

"Ya, what's the problem?" Stella asked

"I'm not living at home right now, and I don't have permission!"

"Stop making excuses Blake, just get permission then, don't overreact" She sighed, rubbing her face. Maybe it would be ok, they did let me go out with Zac last week. "I'll see"

"Yay!" Stella was quick to hug her tightly, saying her goodbyes and waving as she walked away down the sidewalk. Blake waved back, weakly that is. She got into the van, and scrunched with all the other girls until they got back to the group home.
