I wanted to put into writing a somewhat disclaimer as to the ending of this book. It was meant to be much longer and I don't want to try to hide or excuse that. The ending is really really abrupt [brutal honesty here, the ending is kind of shit and unexpected and I'm sorry], with the narrative drawing to a close just shortly after the two main characters get together. It is somewhat of an open ending considering that this was supposed to be the first book in a series. I won't promise anything with that, whether I decide to continue on to write the other books or set the idea aside entirely, it's pretty up in the air at the moment and certainly won't be a conclusion I come to any time soon. Either way, I hope you enjoy the story for what it is and the narrative throughout can make up for the ending not quite being in the place I wanted it to be. :)
I would also like to add to this disclaimer that this book is dark. The themes I wrote are one of the reasons that I tapered off with the narrative and I want to make sure it's understood for those that are uncomfortable with these kinds of themes. The main character, I imagine, might be irredeemable for many readers and I won't dispute that. Please tread carefully with this one, it's quite a ride. :)
