You're just that one thing I can't replace

The moment Hotel Amour was played by the radio station, Naomi burst into tears. It was the very song that was playing when she had first met Chris — she'd know because she googled it on the car ride home. And she knew she was supposed to want to call it quits because she was furious, she couldn't help but miss Chris just a little.

But seeing her situation this very moment, it was obvious she missed him quite a lot.

As she wailed the lyrics to the chorus of repetitive pa - pa - pa's, she was so gladly interrupted by the preset ringtone of her phone.

"Ugh frick." sniffed Naomi as she turned to her ringing phone, contemplating whether to answer it or not. Seeing herself in disarray — red eyes, stuffy nose and all was enough to decide she was not in the condition to take this call. Instead, she turned up the volume on the radio and continued the pity party she promised she'd never throw herself.

"Hi, it's Naomi. I'm probably busy fighting dragons and Sith Lords to answer your call, but I'll get right to it once you leave it after the beep."

At the sound of her voice, Chris's heart raced, even though he knew her voicemail greeting too well to know she wasn't really answering his call. When their song came on the radio, he couldn't help but instinctively dial her number. Even though the voices of the band that sang Hotel Amour filled the air, the only voice he truly wanted to hear was Naomi's.

You could say that voicemail was close enough.

But just because he wanted to hear her voice didn't mean she needed to hear his; and so, the voicemail was only met with silence as Chris pulled the phone away from his ear and hung up.

It was cliche to say the least, that both of them had taken a glance out the window as the downpour of rain intensified, hoping they shared the same sentiments about putting a stop to their fight.

As they drove to the very place they'd met, they both remembered having a list of necessary items to purchase from the store. However, as they made their way back there, there was only one thing they decided they both needed.

And without a doubt, it was each other.
