Maaran abruptly stops and glares at him.

"Tara vum ammavum Tara oda veetla dhaan irukaanga... I'll call them tomorrow. Choose where you want to sleep."

(Tara and ma, both are at Tara's place)

That raises a question in vetri, if Maaran had the whole house why did he sleep on the couch? However, he chooses not to ask. He gives the couch a long glance and says,

"Ennakku couch thaan pazhakam... So, I'll take it."

(I'm used to the couch)

Maaran looks at him and thinks something for a second, then nods in agreement.

Vetri removes his shoes and jacket, changes into pajamas *(the only pair of black ones Maaran had).

He comes into the hall and notices that the couch has actually been made for him to sleep in, there is a water bottle on the table beside and Maaran is stashing away all the papers.

When he sees vetri walk on, Maaran puts them all in a bundle and puts it one of the cupboards.

He then looks at Vetri and then at the couch and then at Vetri again.

He then says, "Pasikudha da? Edhachum saapdiviya illana kaalaila endhirichi saapduviya?"

(Are you hungry da? Do you wanna eat anything now? Or, will you eat in the morning?)

Vetri shakes his head and says, "pasi laam illa na, kaalaila saapduven."

(I'm not hungry na, I'll eat in the morning.)

Maaran's eyes widen for a moment before he says "Seri, good night" and then promptly leaves.

Vetri sits on the couch and drinks some water, which is when he notices a small clip of paper under the coffee table.

He pulls it out and examines it... It's a news paper clipping and the news is about a doctor who was found dead in his house.

Oh wait, he killed this doctor... A long time ago.... He might have been 18 or something.

Why does Maaran have this?

Vetri was usually curious, presumptuous, observant, social... *(he just didn't know when to shut up and stop.)

So, he got up and waited to see if he heard anyone get up or come out.

When he didn't, he tip-toed to the cupboard, slowly opened it, cringed when it creaked, took out the stash, closed the cupboard, cringed again when it creaked again, then tip-toed to the couch and sat on it with the stash.

He carefully opened it, sectioned it and started examining it.

Every single paper in that stash is about vetri, its about his magic shows, his murders, their newspaper cuttings, his hiding places, his famous incidents, the police records and some hand written notes.

The notes is scribbled as if written over and over, again and again.

That is when Vetri realises that Maaran has been searching for him since the day he bunked jail.
