Okay, they are being toddlers now, this has to stop.

"Neenga mudinja... Naama court ku polaam."

(We can go to the court if you both are done.)

Both brothers looked up and smiled sheepishly... Vetri got up and they were about to hug...

They should have hugged but Vetri walked ahead.

Maaran caught up with him and patted him on the back before we left.

I guess I was the only one who saw the smile Vetri had on his face.

3~

Vetri was a magician, so he knew tricks all too well. Their beginning, their play and their ending. So, he knew exactly how his longest trick was going to end. And the end is near, he can feel it.

A few months later

The sun is about to set by the time Vetri is done with Daniel, so here he is, sitting outside the warehouse beside his brother, his palms sweaty, shirt bloody and hair wavy due to the wind.

And there is only one thing going through his mind,

"What the flipping hell do I now?"

Climax mudichaachu, villain-a konnachu ippo naan enna dhaan pudunganum?

(The villain is dead, the climax is over, What on god's green earth should I do now?)

Vetri was a rational person *(debatable) but he knew the odds of him coming out of this alive and living a happy life were, pretty much, 0!

He never planned this far, he can't risk going to Anu, because he is a criminal.

He can't continue as a magician, because he is a criminal.

He definitely can't stay with Maaran, because HE IS A CRIMINAL.

So, he thinks, 'Maybe I should do what all criminals do..'

A useless part of his brain provides, 'Go to politics?'

And, he shakes his head. He looks up at Maaran. Then he says,

"Maybe I should go to jail."
"Maybe you should go to jail."

Maaran says in the same sync with him.

A very small amount of disappointment spikes in Vetri, not large, very small amount.
*(Nah its large!)

Vetri lowers his eyes to mud and attempts to hide it.

It isn't a surprise, Maaran only came to know about his existence like a day and a half ago. They can't just become brothers in a day... They obviously can't. Also, Maaran will be better off with Vetri in jail.

"Veliya irundha unna vaazha vida maatanga.. You will be safe in here."

(They won't let you live outside..)
