BUKAYO AND CHANAÏS sat crossed legged on the girl's couch, a deck of cards in each person's hands as they played a game of uno. so far, chanaïs was winning, though bukayo would never let her do so that easily.
"so," he began. "i see you and reiss have... rekindled." and as if it were a part of his plan, chanaïs' hand stilled as she went to grab for a card from the spare pile, looking up at bukayo with a glare.
"nothing has been rekindled, just play" she rolled her eyes, expecting him to continue with the game. but, it was bukayo. and he found something so entertaining through annoying her.
as jorja smith player at a reasonable volume in the background, bukayo placed down a blue number two card, only for chanaïs to use her plus four on him as a last resort. and when she saw the fallen look on his face, she knew she'd win the round.
"don't ever speak to me again" bukayo said as he kisses his teeth, picking up four cards. "declan was right; you bring up reiss and karma strikes you for god knows how long."
that last sentence of his got a chuckle out of chanaïs, who silently agreed with declan's saying. though she wanted nothing to do with reiss, time and time again she found herself being associated with him and it never ended well.
"okay can we end the game here now? i'm tired." bukayo asked, just as soon as chanaïs placed her last card down, declaring herself as the winner.
"you owe me mango magic from boost for a whole week." she tapped the boy, walking towards the kitchen for a glass of water.
"since when was this agreed?"
"since now."
