JEONG GARAM WAS NEVER THE ONE TO TAKE THE SPOTLIGHT. Many assumed that it was because of her quiet nature— truly, her name was befitting of her— whilst some thought that she never liked the spotlight, which was true. Being born into a family that was always in the front pages in medias and was always the topics of chatters and rumors, Garam's life was and would never be peaceful.

Which was exactly the reason as to why she ended up here, stoically standing beside her prideful parents as they continued to talk about things she was never interested in. Her parents, Jeong Haneul and Jeong Hana, stood proud as they finally introduced their youngest child on the media.

What was there to be proud of? Garam questioned herself. It wasn't like she had done anything for them to be proud. Maybe, it was about her colorless dreams.

The Jeong family's eldest child, Jeong Jiwoo stood beside her sister, smiling politely at the scoop-hungry reporters. Manners was always the top priority for such a family like them. Her younger sister, however, had a poker face as she let the media take pictures of her.

The flashes were rapid, almost blinding even. But Garam was used to it. ❝Today, you have met my lovely youngest child, Jeong Garam. Although still a child, my daughter has a very bright future ahead of her. I am sure of it—❞

Pressure was all Garam could feel as her father continued to blabber about her and her colorless dreams. About how successful she would become once she grows up. About how talented she was. She averted her gaze from the front and towards the side of the stage where a small girl of her age was peeking in, giving her a thumbs up and a toothy smile with her parents right behind her. Heedo. Na Heedo was the name of that girl, her first friend in Korea. She was a sweet girl who had always been there for the Jeong heir, always making her laugh with her antics and such.

Jeong Garam suppressed a chuckle at the cute sight, opting to smile a little at the girl before facing the crowd once again. ❝Our precious daughter would succeed just like how the whole Jeong family did.❞ The seven year old kid felt the weight in her shoulders get heavier as seconds passed, frowning even more.

❝—Our child will do well in any path she chooses.❞

Jeong Garam just wanted to live a peaceful life.
