I couldn't afford any flights so I looked for bus trips, and those were a bit cheaper, but I've always had this dam fear of a bus bathroom blowing up.
I figured if Nico came with me then I'd be fine but I'm getting my tattoo today so I figured I'd ask him then.
Speaking of tattoos I need to get going or I'll be late... meh I'm late for everything
"CECIL I'M HEADING OUT!" I yell to him
"First you don't have to yell I'm right here, and second I'm heading out too," he said
I push past him and sprint down the hall so I didn't have to lock the door, I heard him chuckle and I could imagine him shaking his head and locking the door.

Once I got to the tattoo shop Nico was in the waiting room glaring daggers at me.
"Hey so-" I started
"You're 20 minutes late, wearing a long sleeve shirt when I told you to wear a short sleeve one and look like a train wreck." He deadpanned
"Good to see you too," I mumbled "and sorry I forgot... about the shirt thing. Also, I'm always late you know that"
He rolled his eyes and looked at Reyna who was trying not to laugh and sighed and motioned for me to follow him flipping Reyna off in the process, she returned the gesture with both hands.
Nico lead me to a room lit by many neon signs of many different shapes and images... it looks like Vegas but inside a single room.

After I got my tattoo and Nico explained how to care for it I asked him if he wanted to get some food with me.
"Yeah, sure" he replied, "REYNA I'M LEAVING FOR THE DAY!" he called to her.
"Fine, I'll see you tomorrow," she replied.

After Nico and I found the café we want to go to we ordered and took a seat.
"This place is nice" I pointed out to start a conversation
"Yeah it is," he said trying not to look at me
"Nico?" I questioned
"Yeah?"
"You ok? You seem... distracted?"
"I'm ok"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'm sure William why?"
"I wanted to make sure you're ok"
"Well, I am. Now you look like you want something"
"Me? Want something nev- can you come to Texas with me for a family reunion please?" I rushed out the last part worries for the response
He sighed "Will-" our food came and cut him off
"So? Will you please come?"
"Why? It's your family"
"Because Kayla invited you" it was technically true she said I could bring a friend
"I don't know Will I have to check with Reyna and- when even is this?"
"Uh- that's not important."
"William Andrew Solace when is this!"
"Uh... I'll text Kayla and ask..."
He sighed and glared half-heartedly at me while I text her.
"She says it's May 21st."
"And what's the date today?"
"May 15th"
He sighed "The only reason I'm saying I'll go is because of your dumb puppy dog eyes"
I smiled "Thank you so much Nico!"
