Lonely
That's what (Reader) was.
They were an experiment in Professor Membrane's lab. Stuck there for as long as they will live. They were his only human subject, so as life had it, he did the most tests on them.
It was hell.
The pain, the hurt, the loss of hope. The only good part being daily vitals, in the morning and afternoon.
This took an emotional toll on them until one day a young, green, man had broken into the lab, to seemingly steal supplies or information on the experiments and such.
(Reader) was just praying, hoping, to whatever was out there for him to come to where they were and take them away from this wretched place.
(Reader), looking out of their hurt proof room, out into the dimly lit hallway, since they thought it was nighttime, they weren't so sure. They see, him. Finally, it was him, he could save them!
Desperately prying at the door and crying for him to save them, he notices this and gets lifted up, by what looks like spider legs, coming over to the door they were so cruelly locked behind for their entire life.
They had never seen another person other than the scientists at Membrane Labs. Was what outsiders looked like? He was quite short and green. Had radiation or something made people's skin green and make them have no ears of nose for that matter?
None of that mattered! There was finally something sort of human. Still desperately clawing at the door in hopes of escape, they banged on the door, crying and screeching.
Zim had finally made it over, and he was soon opening the door. Finally, freedom. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" He hesitantly made his way over and got off his pak legs. 'Maybe they could be of use' Zim had thought. This did make sense since they were at Membrane Labs and probably know what lies within the complex.
"Come with me filthy human-thing!" He demanded. (Reader) got up and did as he said, following him down the hall, through many corridors and out the doors of the building, hidden by the shadows of the night they made their way down to Zim's base.
Without warning, as soon as they came in, they plopped onto the couch crying about their freedom. This was amazing, after all of these years of mental torture and experiments, they were finally free. 'This feels amazing.' (Reader) thought.
Zim sighed looking upon their frail form, paler than their natural (skin color) skin from lack of sunlight. They were a weak, pathetic human. He needed to protect this human, so without warning, Zim took off his wig and contacts, slowly walked towards the frail human. He protectively wrapped his arms around their body, they sobbed into his chest, slightly burning his skin, but he didn't care. This was fine
They moved over to where a blanket was sitting and he wrapped it around them, as (Reader) spoke about their horrid experience at the lab. Zim calmed them of their frights and assured them that they were safe.
(Reader) had soon fell asleep on Zim's chest as he stroked their hair, their beautiful skin being tainted by their tear streaks. He looked upon them and smiled.
'The feeling of finally being free is indeed liberating'
