"Want me to prepare your usual?" Rose asked, looking down at the other. (Why does this sound inappropriate?)
"Or you can prepare a candle light dinner for you and me?"
Rose was baffled with the random answer. "You're ridiculous."
Noah laughed but then immediately picked the call from his mom and with that, Rose gets up and leaves the rooftop, giving privacy for the latter.
After school ended, like promised, Liam walks back with his girlfriend on the way to the bakery. As soon as they reach the bakery, Liam quickly and lightly pecks the latter on the lips before leaving. His actions leaving a giggly Rose as she enters the bakery.
"Rose!" Rose's boss and owner of the bakery, Aiden calls him.
"Aiden! Are you here to tell me I'm getting a raise? in my salary?" Rose displays her puppy eyes.
Aiden scoffed. "I guess you do deserve it. You've been attracting a lot of customers since you started, both men and women. Anyways, I'm here to tell you that we have a new part-timer. So, I'm hoping you'd teach him a thing or two."
"Oh cool. I'll feel great to have a hand here. Where is he?"
On cue, a boy walks out from the Staff's room wearing an apron.
"Noah?!?" Rose widened her eyes, at the sight of her soulmate.
"Oh, nice. You guys know each other" Aiden said.
"Heyyaaaa!" Noah greeted, with a wide grin spread on his lips, showing off his dimples.
"I'Il leave you two at it" The owner says, patting the younger's back before leaving.
"Are you stalking me, now?" Rose asked, putting her hands on her waist, like a mom.
"Pfft. You're cute Rosie but sorry to disappoint you, I'm not. If I wanted to stalk you, I would've come to the bakery daily"
"Why did you suddenly need a job? I heard your family is wealthy"
"That's another thing." Noah replied, rearranging the pastries on the display counter. "Mind teaching me the basics?"
"Sure."
The door chimes and catches the attention of the two.
"Welcome to-" Rose turned her head to the entrance only to see no one but her boyfriend.
"Oh shit." Noah mumbles to himself.
Rose knew that Liam wouldn't like it if she was near Noah since He claimed that the only way to make the 'change' work is if they keep their distance. Noah knows of it as well.
"Liam" The female cashier runs over to her boyfriend, Happily, making the other cashier roll his eyes.
"What brings you here?"
"My sisters wanted cake. So, I thought, why not buy it from the best bakery" Liam glances over at Noah at the counter who looked uncomfortable.
"Noah! When did you start working here?" He asked and Noah was ready to swore that he saw Liam's facial expression shifting from angelic to devilish.
"Today, actually. I've got my reasons." Never has Noah ever felt intimidated by someone younger.
"I hope they're good" Liam said and the other just nod.
The youngest of them saw how the situation turned out so she immediately dragged Liam out from the bakery.
"You don't have to worry." She assures her boyfriend.
"How can't I when he's your... I can't even say it." Liam rolled his eyes.
"Please don't worry about it. Were only friends, and well remain like that. He have Lia. and as far as they're together...." Rose wasn't sure if she wanted to say what she said next or no. "-The 'change' will happen. Myth or not, it
will."
After convincing her boyfriend, She walked back into the bakery and grabs the cakes that Liam wanted. Noah didn't want to ask the younger anything because she looked kind of worried. Right after Liam left and everything, Rose came back in to handle the customers while teaching Noah the basics; heating, cleaning, organizing the counter etc.

Almost 3 weeks went by so quickly, Noah was handling his part time job pretty well, especially with Rose by his side. Despite Rose being the younger one, she guided him through out every task, and if he made a mistake, like
spilling coffee, the younger wouldn't be mad. Noah was uncontrollably clumsy but Rose was patient.
Overall, she had fun.
The next week, however became a lot harder for Noah. He wasn't struggling or anything but him and Lia's relationship started to become rocky. Lia became stressed out with managing both her school and model life. And he had been experiencing the 'switch' once again, but this time, he got used to it so he knew when it would occur.
Of course, the 'switch' showed him Rose's vision but he didn't tell Rose about it, because he didn't want to worry the younger since they were hoping for the 'change'
to happen. But, these past few weeks, Noah couldn't deny it anymore;
He developed feelings for Rose.
But not fully, he isnt sure of his feelings towards the younger and he knew it wouldn't work out. They're only best friends. Liam had been coming to the bakery frequently, and when Rose's not looking, he'd glare at him. And Rose was and is still clearly in love with
his boyfriend. It became a lot harder for Noah At the same time, because he respects the younger's wishes for the 'change' to happen, he really tried to patch things up with Lia.
The two boys are about to close the bakery for the day when suddenly Rose's phone rang.
"Hey Liam." Rose greets the caller, making Noah roll his eyes.
'There isn't a day when he wouldn't call!'
"What do you mean?" Rose raised her voice, attracting the attention of the older.
'Are they arguing?'
"That's okay. Alright" She ended the call with a sad expression and Noah realized something. The younger didn't say 'I love you' when she usually does.
"Is everything alright?"
"We were supposed to go out the day after tomorrow to celebrate my birthday-"
"Your birthday's tomorrow??? How come I don't know?" Noah exclaims.
"You never asked"
"So, what are you going to do then?" Noah asked, wiping the last table.
"Probably just sleep it off. Blake would be out with his friends and will only be back at night"
Noah looks at the younger with a saddened
expression which catches her off guard.
"No, no. It doesn't really matter. I'm not the type to celebrate my birthday, anyways. So, what are you doing this weekend?" Rose said, attempting to changing the topic.
"Im going back to another town, to my cousin's house, he wanted to see me. Would you be okay?" Noah asked, with worried expression
Again, The younger nodded.
