So let's look at what options you have to report breaches in copyright for your works.
Unfortunately, I am unsure of how much help these will be, but I will include them anyway.
This chapter will primarily look at what options you have, if you have found your work outside of Wattpad domain. I have still included the process for works inside, please do not fret. But as the process is sadly far more complicated once we step outside of the jurisdiction of Wattpad, that will be where the focus is going to lie.
Either way, inside or outside, I hope you find everything you need to know here, so that you may go forth with your battle armour and protect your hard work.
NOTE:
In future, if I come across any more/updated information regarding reporting, I will add it here, with the dates that I made the changes. This is because, as I have come to discover, information is incredibly difficult to come by, and there is a lot of different content out there that is confusing to tell what is 'up to date,' and what's been outdated.
Perhaps, in years to come, this may be a resource some poor soul will be reading (yes, I'm sorry, but I'm looking at you, I'm so sorry), and you won't have a clue where to start looking.
So, I hope this is of help.
In saying that, by no means am I confident that this book will be, 'up to date,' or the best information out there. I have had to become a lawyer in one day, lol, cut me a break 😩.
This is only what I have been able to find, and have worked out from talking to other victims, from Reddit discussion boards, tweets, and dodgy looking forums with questionable ads that will absolutely give me nightmares tonight.
