Y/N POV

For years it felt like I was never alone, I always figured it was my helicopter mother but now that I live away from home and still feel it- it freaks me out. I remember the time I tried to explain it to Drew, he automatically went all doctor on me and I almost landed myself in the psych ward.. Again.

As I slipped out of my class, early I may add, I got the feeling once again. It usually happens around the same time as when my heart randomly starts racing or when I get really tired. I tried to brush it off as I walked through the city. Hoping no one can read my uncomfortable body language as I walk by.

Finally reaching my apartment I typed the entrance code into the door and proceeded into the tight hallway of the building. Even with living with another person I can still only afford the bare minimum when it comes to housing. There are water stains on the ceiling and dated brown carpet lining every square inch of the floor. I started my trek up the stairs to the fourth floor and swung open my door.

It was nothing special. Ikea furniture mixed with stuff bought from the second hand store down a few blocks away. A few person pictures taped to the wall since frames are too expensive. Cat hair littered the floor as the culprit stared at me from the top of the fridge.

"Hello pudge." I gave the fluffy creature a pat on the head, receiving immediate purrs.

My phone buzzed,

'Girls night?' Lilith sent to the group chat.

'Down, I'm off at 7' I sent before putting down my phone and heading to the bathroom for a quick shower before work.

...

How's life as a Starbucks barista in Toronto? Two words. Sucks ass.

Our entire clientele is from 3 different groups: Students who you know can't afford a $6 macchiato every morning, students that are living off their parents' money and can afford a $6 coffee, and people who live here because they know they can't make it in New york. No one actually wants to stay in toronto. Barely any nightlife, not thriving in any industry other than education. I guess it's nice? Safer than New York but definitely not as nice as Vancouver. Anyway, no matter what group they are from they think they have the right to treat me like the scum of earth.

"Two venti strawberry acai refreshers with no strawberry inclusions or ice." The young girl stared at her phone the entire time she spoke to me.

"Sure thing." I took her payment and took a glance at the clock. 15 More minutes.

"(Y/N)? I know you're almost off but can you take over the bar, I have a huge headache." My coworker,Sydney, said with pleading eyes. I nodded before heading over to her station to start on where she left off. A Latte with hazelnut syrup.

Quickly turning arm grazed the metal steaming wand.

"Ow"

Shit ow

I looked around for the man who said that, and of course no one. Another one of my crazy head voices.

"Sorry, head man, didn't mean to hurt you." I chuckled to myself.

Who said that?

I froze. It responded.

"Sydney I just got really light headed I need to leave early" I said without much else of an explanation. I ran into the back, I was alone. Should I try again?

"Hello?" Nothing. I rubbed my closed eyes, I'm actually getting light headed now- When I opened them I was staring into a mirror in an unfamiliar bathroom except it wasn't me in the mirror, it was a man.
