Before Noah leaves, he slips a piece of paper
the counter to which Rose notices. "I think
you dropped an order. We wouldn't want you to
get fired now, right?" He said, shooting a
smirk before he leaves the bakery.

Rose picks up the piece of paper and turns it
around.

"I DIDN'T HAVE TO" was written.

Rose stared at it in confusion. What did he
mean by he didn't have to?

After a whole day at the Cafe, Rose walks
back to her apartment, took a shower, and
completed her assignments. She lived alone
in an apartment near school. Her parents are
working overseas and although her parents had
asked her to go with them, But Rose prefers it if
she leaves New york after she's done with her studies.

Maybe, with just luck and his intelligence, she
might land a scholarship to one of the top
universities in the world. Hence, explains how she owns the apartment unit. Her parents bought it for her.

She laid down on her bed, scrolling through
her phone that's bombarded with notifications
from her social medias. As in on cue, Liam texts the latter. The corners of Rose's lips curve upwards at the sudden notification. She immediately called her boyfriend and they talked for a while. It became a routine for them to call at night on alternate days, although they see each other at school, but they liked it when it's just the two of them conversing through the phone, with no distractions, just their voices and comfort.

"Goodnight Liam." Rose  wishes.

"Goodnight Rosie, love ya."

Rose ended the call with a smile still plastered
on her face and a warm feeling.

She glanced at the clock and it's still 10pm.
The Brown hair girl decided to have some sleep when suddenly her phone buzzes again.

She looks up to see an unknown message
and swipes to open it.

Rose:
Who is it?

Unknown:
You didn't recognize me?!? 😯

Rose:
Noah?

Unknown:
Who else

        Rose saved unknown as Annoying brat

Annoying brat
Now Now Thats pretty rude.

Rose:
How did you get my number

Annoying brat:
Told you I didn't have to try huh

Rose:
Lexi?

Annoying brat:
Maybe or maybe not?

 Annoying brat changed their username to   The Most handsome Boy

Rose:

Leaving the latter on read, she sighed.

'Dang you, lexi!'

"You bitch!"

"Uh? Me? YOU son of bitch, I invited you over at my house and you have the audacity to call me bitch huh?" Lexi Said, smacking the younger at her back.

"Why did you gave my number to that brat?!"

"Who? Noah?" Lexi laughed.

"So, what's the matter if gave him your phone
number? You guys are soulmates, right?" Lexi
asked, after she stopped laughing.

Rose lets out a sigh. "That's what I want to
talk about. l'm not his soulmate."

"Well, he made it pretty clear that you are."

"Well,I don't want it. You know I have Liam."

Lexi takes a sip of the juice and sits there for
a while, staring into complete nothingness, mind filled with thoughts. "Rose, have you ever
heard of the 'change'?" She then asked.

The brown hair girl looks up to the blonde and
shook her head.

"It's actually called 'Reverse' and it's when
your soulmate changes. When your soulmate
changes, you won't experience the 'switch' for one whole month so your first 'switch with your new soulmate will happen in the consecutive year"

"Is that even possible?" Rose asked.

"I haven't heard any stories of it happening in real life. A lot of people say it's a myth but some of them say, there's a possibility."

"What do you think? A myth?"

Lexi shrugs his shoulder. "Myth"

Rose slumps, as if his hopes of having
Noah's soulmate change from him to
someone else just shattered.

"If you don't want to be his soulmate. Then try
keeping your distance from Him. I did
say it's a myth, but if you guys can make it a
possibility, then, I'm impressed."

"You're asking me to keep my distance from him, You do know you just gave me his number, right?"

"Then, block him."

"I'm not that cruel.

"Then talk to him. I'm sure Noah doesn't have
feelings for you, and I heard he's getting back with Lia"

"Who's that?"

"His ex, the previous one. She was probably the
best one for him and honestly, she's just out of his league."

"Why did they break up?" Rose asks.

"Now, look who's the nosy one." Lex teased
earning an elbow from the younger.

"Their relationship went downhill after Lia debuted as a model. They didn't have the time for one another. Even if they did face time, She would doze off to sleep in the next 10 minutes."

"Must be hard"

"Well, apparently Lia asked Noah if they could get back together. So, try negotiating something with the boy, I don't know, I'm not good with these things. I'm smart but too dumb for this shit. And you're Rose Evans you can talk your way through"

Rose thought about it for a while. If Noah
got back together with Lia, then he
doesn't have to worry much about the soulmate
thingy. They can remain their distant but at the same time, still be friends And her relationship with Liam would be A-okay. As long as the two started dating again, everything would be fine. Right?

"Maybe, you're right." Rose nods reassuringly.
"I'll talk to him."
