But did he want to let go of Rose?
"Alright. I understand." Noah said.
"Thank you." Liam nodded his head at the older.
"But it doesn't mean I can't be her friend."
Liam looked up. "I have a different opinion though. I think if we want this 'change' to work, you'l have to distance yourself from Rose." Liam proposes.
Those words left a long trail of thoughts in
Noah's mind. How on earth is he going to
distance himself, especially since Rose works
at his favourite bakery which he always goes to?
And it doesn't seem wrong to be friends with her, right? Noah seemed sure that being friends
while distancing himself from Rose would be
no problem.
Does it even work that way? Friends while being distant?
"Fine." Noah replied. Although he wasn't
convinced, he didn't want to start an argument
nor be held up longer on the rooftop. He just
wanted to return to his apartment and rant out
everything to Cole. He didn't even want to stop
by the Cafe.
But the urge was so strong.
In the end, Noah did end up in front of the
bakery, just staring at the 'OPEN' sign as if it isn't a regular thing. He looks at both of his sides, just in case he finds Liam anywhere, but after seeing it's clear, he makes his way into the bakery, meeting eyes with Rose.
Rose looked hesitant whether to greet the
latter or not so she continued with her job.
Noah shrugs his shoulders and casually
walks over to the counter and rings the small bell.
"What would you like to order?" Rose attends
the latter.
Noah being Noah, of course, didn't stop
himself from conversing with the latter. "Acting all stranger now?" he asks sarcastically.
Rose scoffs and rolls her eyes.
"I'm too nice to be a 'stranger' to you"
"Then, what am I?" Noah smirks as he teases
the younger.
"Shut up, you're holding up the line. What would
you like to order?" Rose says, shifting
immediately to professionalism.
"A glass of Americano, umm, and chocolate cake..."
Noah says, slurring his words.
"Is that all?" Rose asks as he jots down the
order.
"And a paper with your number, please." Noah
says, smirking.
Rose was taken aback with the latter's words
and bites back a blush.
'Shit, what was that?' Rose asks herself.
Rose clears his throat. "l'll have your orders
sent soon."
Noah walks over to his table and scrolls
through his phone, answering messages from
his friends. Rose then walks over to his table
and places the Americano and cake for
Noah. Noah tries to look into the latter's
eyes but Rose wasn't having any of it.
"You left your receipt at the counter:" Rose
says as she slips the receipt on the table.
Noah grins at the latter, earning an eye roll from her before she left Noah all by himself again. Noah taps on his contact list to type Rose's name on the contact info. He then turns the receipt around.
"NICE TRY' was written on the receipt.
Noah let out a sigh. He should've known
better that Rose wouldn't give him her number. After all, she's a loyal girlfriend, and was smarter than Noah thought. Like, who wouldn't fall for the Noah Collins??
