「 16; Nonexistent 」

Start from the beginning

"Eat up, hyung. You don't want to starve through the next few classes don't you?"

The mentioned male hummed to the youngest's statement. He then started taking bites out of his meal while the group changed the topic of their conversation.

Sunghoon only sat down, puzzled by the look he was given. "Did he.. glare at me?"

It's almost midnight and Jay was still not home. Sunghoon already spammed him with worried texts and tried calling him a few times.

Until he heard the faint click from outside the door as it unlocked to reveal the person he has been waiting for.

"Jay!" The younger practically running to him, embracing him into a hug. Though he separated himself from the older as he noticed how he didn't even hug him back.

Jay said nothing at all, only passing by as he poured himself a glass of water. Then going upstairs to change his clothes. Sunghoon felt hurt by this. Like he was only a ghost, invisible to his eyes.

After going back down, Jay noticed Sunghoon who looked like he was waiting for him. "Hi Hoon.."

That was all he uttered, going to the kitchen again as he prepared himself a small meal. Getting some of the leftovers and heating them for it to be somewhat better to consume.

Sunghoon approached him once more. Playing with his hair a bit while asking, "Where were you, Jay?"

"I'd rather not say. You don't need to be in this mess with me.." Though the answer that Jay gave was half a lie, and half not.

The younger wanted to ask him again but he just left him to eat there peacefully. Waiting until the right moment.

Some time later, Jay decided to go upstairs since he wanted to rest. He was already about to end this shitty day, so what else would ruin his mood than someone blocking his way.

"Jay, I know you're hiding something from me. I'll ask you again, where did you go when I waited for how many hours only for you?" Sunghoon had a stern look, waiting for the other to answer.

"And why would I tell you?"

"Because I was fucking worried about you. It was already so late at night and you weren't here yet!" He grabbed the older's wrists, stopping him from getting away.

"Stop it, Sunghoon. I'm already tired." Jay tried to escape his hold but the grip only got tighter.

"Can't you just tell me?? Aren't I the very person you trust the most?" Sunghoon was close to breaking down. But oh did he add more oil to the flame.

"I told you to stop already! Honestly, why do you still care for me so much. It's getting annoying. You're being too clingy with me, and all you do is distract me from important shit I need to do!

We're not boyfriends. We never were. So the only thing I want you to do is to stay out of my way, Park Sunghoon."

Sunghoon's hold on him started getting weaker, letting go of Jay who was more than upset at him. The younger had tears forming in his eyes, his heart felt like shattering but the older didn't do anything to even calm him down.

Both of them were wounded inside. Yet they were each other's reason why they started to turn out like this. There was no one else to blame but themselves.

Sunghoon glanced at Jay before entering his room, slamming the door and locking himself in that very room which will soon be flooded with tears.

Jay didn't stop him. He only let him be. He was already exhausted. But one question stayed in his mind the whole night.

"Why are you doing this to my heart, Sunghoon.."
