Luna's POV

"Mi vida, did you hear that?" The question came out slowly, not sure he had heard it right himself. With a thumb rhythmically circling the back of my hand, the ritual helping Bruno gather his emotions together. No way, I mean sí...I heard Diego. It would have been an impossible task as a mother to not be completely and utterly absorbed in everything our mijo did at that moment. Wrapped around his finger from day one, I smiled.

He said... "Casita. See you at Casita. The door. Of course..."

"We...we get to see them, Bruno." The bond between our two souls lit up from the inside, overflowing what little space was left in us. If a thousand words existed for what we were both feeling right now, none of them would come close to describing these emotions.

"What are we waiting for then amor? Let's go meet our pint-sized spitfire!" Securing an arm where Lily's cloth cinched around me, the heat from his cheek fired out with the last of his message. "Luna, thank you for this. All of this. In case I forget to say it later, I am so proud of them. You gave me this mi reina. Our greatest gifts." Blushing down at my ring he currently played with as he subconsciously reminded himself of who he was to me. His forever, until the night, snuffed out every star in the sky. May a millennium pass before he ever changed how he felt about me, and even then...

A trail of dust hovered behind us, pounding the dirt path with our beating hearts skipping along to the gust that carried our feet. "Vamos mi vida!" I could barely keep up with Bruno's pace, half dragging me along and phasing up sections of town. He was buzzing with excitement, the broadest smile showing his teeth as I stumbled along in his hold, laughing uncontrollably at how he was chanting away through the bond. 'We get to see them.', drummed repeatedly in his head, hitting my own mind with the boisterous tone he felt inside him.

Please let them be there, please...

"Brunito!" leaning back and slowing his charging feet, my voice barely a mouse's squeak compared to the gulps of air he was sucking in.

"The boys..." Splashes of pastel emerald that painted our home the loveliest in Encanto reflected brilliant summer sun off its surface, shimmering like fragments of shattered jewels themselves. It was calling my heart home and into the warm embrace of our niños.

"They should come, por favor." Sure, I preferred for them to not meet their older selves but we don't actually know what awaits us at Casita yet so the thought of leaving them out of this stung. Besides, if things took an awkward turn and they were to come face to face with their future selves we could always quickly shoo them off before too much damage was caused. I'm fairly certain Benji would hold the deepest of grudges if we left them behind. He'd never let us live that down.

"Uhhh...really Lu? Did you think I was going to risk being mauled to death by our precious kitty? I think not." Hurt was evident in the creases between his eyebrows, scowling at the ridiculous notion I had. "If I don't leave Casita with a giant group hug from all of our bebés then expect severe punishments. I can ground our future niño and niña just the same from here." Joking tone aside, Bruno's heart ached the same as mine, to hold them and never let them go. Why did I ever think he'd jet off to Casita without our entire merry band of troublemakers? Hola, earth to Luna... he'd never.

With no warning, our artfully designed door blasted open from the power behind Mateo's arms like a crashing tidal wave, surprising us both. He marched his lanky legs up to us and with equal force rambled away, darting those crystal eyes back and forth. "What's going on? Something is up! Everyone ran towards town! Why did you tell us we had to stay here? You knew! Huh. We don't keep secrets! Mamá! Papá!" The speed at which he argued his case was too endearing, not waiting to catch his breath, tinting his cheeks the same ocean blue.
