Ch 5: Rest is Needed

Start from the beginning

Sasuke's heart skipped a beat at Naruto's words. Precious. The word made him smile. Really smile. The kind that used to appear on his face as a small child. He was precious to them. His heart, his love was precious. He wrapped his arms around Naruto's side and squeezed, face burrowing into his chest. Sakura had an arm wrapped over his own shoulders and he took her right with him not that the kuinochi minded the odd angle. She rested her head on his crest locking eyes with a bemused Naruto over Sasuke's shoulder. The blonde unsure what he did to deserve a sudden hug, but he was by no means complaining. Sasuke gave the best hugs in the world. Really, he did. They were always warm and tight. Made you feel like you deserved a thousand treasures. The Uchiha really was precious.

"Asks the moron who fainted like a little girl and cracked his skull wide open when he got the news." Sasuke shot him a glare. "Did you even try to protect your brain? That things just as precious as my heart is. If you wanted to dye your hair red like your mom blood is not the way to do it. Besides, I don't know how many times I have to say it, I like you better as a blonde, Naruto. You should leave the strawberry coloring to Sakura."

Naruto couldn't stop his smile from returning. It warmed his heart that Sasuke thought his mind should be protected. He squeezed Sasuke as the Uchiha had done moments before to him. It meant a lot. That Sasuke just wanted him as he was. Idiotic tendencies and all. The Uchiha didn't want a single hair to change on his head. It made Naruto feel so loved and cherished and...he wanted to hold Sasuke in his arms forever because he was so precious. It seemed like Sakura did too.

"Boys," Sakura hung her head. "Please, not now." Sakura's eyebrows furrowed and she took Sasuke's hand. Though she would be lying if she didn't find the familiar back and forth between them comforting. "The two of you scared me half to death. I thought I was going to lose you both at once." Sasuke flinched at that. He was still feeling that way." I-I didn't know who to help first-"

"We're sorry we put you through that Sakura." Sasuke murmured letting go of Naruto to twist around and give her a proper hug.

"Don't start apologizing again. It's okay, Sasuke. It's what I'm here for." Sakura rubbed the Uchiha's back. She saw an apology glimmering in Naruto's eyes as well. Before he could spout one of his own she covered his mouth with her hand. "I'll always patch you two idiots up. I care about you too much to let you die. I did it just as much for me as it was for you."

"Help him." Sasuke and Naruto had said in unison. Both glared at each other. "No. You." Again unison. Teeth were grit. The glares got worse.

"Uh, hang on...didn't they already have this conversation?" Shisui scratched his head.

"Well, we've established that this is a potential future. It stands to reason that there may be some conversations that happen in response to events we see before we get those conversations in on screen time." Itachi replied.

"It's kind of freaky." Kiba frowned.

"I'm not sure how to feel about it either. Why? Because it's strange hearing them repeat themselves." Shino spoke up.

"You first, Naruto. I mean it."

"I have Kurama, Sasuke. He heals me when he's not moody."

"So? I'm an Uchiha."

"Your bloodline doesn't give you jackshit for healing."

"Boys-" Sakura looked helplessly between them.

"It's literally word for word." Kiba threw out his hands. "They just had this argument."

"Maybe Tsunade will burst in to break it up too." Ino proposed.
