"Sasuke." Itachi looked at him sternly. Sasuke realized his brother wasn't dropping the subject. He fisted a hand in Itachi's shirt. He slid in closer to him, all but hissing at him.
"Look we use protection, we're being safe about everything, and as of now, that's all you need to know." Sasuke released his hold on his shirt. "Now just focus on the screen." The blush never left Sasuke's face.
Itachi did not know how to feel about this new information. He was fine that they were all dating. Truly he was, but the fact that they all might be screwing each other hadn't crossed his mind initially. Now that it had...now that Sasuke had confirmed such information... Itachi did not want to think about this. At all. He decided to refocus on the screen again as Sasuke continued the conversation he interrupted.
"I told Itachi. That's all that mattered to me, Sakura. If either of you want to tell your parents..."
"...they're trying to split us up up there. I'm not telling my parents shit." Naruto crossed his arms. "Yours are already meddling enough. If it comes out...we come out. They can deal with it. That's that."
"Nothing changes when it does." Sakura looked between them. "Right?"
"Right." Both boys nodded in agreement. They all held hands.
"What was it if it wasn't a panic attack? I felt pretty panicked." Sasuke demanded as he looked at his former pink haired teammate. Sakura sighed to herself. Of course her boys were awake and feigning sleep until their parents left. She was glad though. At least now they could talk alone.
"You little shit." Shisui remarked looking back at Sasuke.
Sasuke shrugged in reply. "Itachi knew I was faking the whole time." Sasuke looked to his brother. "Does my chakra give me away? Or is it my breathing?"
"I'm not answering that Sasuke." Itachi denied.
Sasuke pouted. "Why not? How am I supposed to fake better if I don't know what I'm doing wrong!"
"It's not that your wrong. Big brothers just know." Itachi poked him in the forehead. Sasuke flinched back in annoyance.
"You're such a liar." Sasuke pouted resting his head on Sakura's shoulder. He had to have a tell he just didn't know what it was.
"It was stress cardiomyopathy or in words Nar can understand...its called broken heart syndrome. It's exactly as it sounds." Sakura sat herself on the edge of Sasuke's bedside. "It's a temporary heart condition that's brought on by stress or extreme emotions, sometimes both. You weren't having a panic attack. Your heart - it literally couldn't take the stress you were feeling and it broke. Literally. Normally it wouldn't cause death but with how deeply you feel things your feelings almost pushed your body straight to death."
"I...almost died from actual heartbreak?"
Sasuke was stunned. He put his hand to his chest and let go of Sakura's hand, as well as Naruto's. "That can happen?"
Naruto frowned. "I thought heartbreak was just an expression. It's a medical condition too?"
"Of course. It's probably where the phrase comes from." Sakura looked hesitantly at Sasuke. She lightly placed her hand on his arm. "But you don't have to worry about this happening again. No one's going to spring us separating out of the blue ever again." Her hand slid down to rest atop the one he had on his chest. "We're going to stop this whole thing."
Sasuke nodded in agreement. He rested his head on Naruto's shoulder. The blonde held him close. He was surprisingly silent but Sasuke didn't mind the lack of noise. Watching this was heavy.
"Dramatic bastard." Naruto crossed his arms from the hospital bed beside his. His head bandaged excessively. Kurama so losses he was sulking alone at the back of his cage refusing to heal the blonde. "What'd you go breaking your own heart for? That things precious to us."
