The morning sun was so bright that it lightened up the room even though the curtains were down, the soft breeze also enhances the movement of the curtains and the effect of the morning sun.
Irene was never a fan of a lightened room but she couldn't bring herself to stand from the bed to close the windows in order put on the Air Conditioner.
It's Saturday and Saturdays are meant for sleeping and resting, she's so sure that it is still very early. She has had the plan to stay in bed till it 9am.
She heard the door bell rang and she laid on the bed expecting whoever it was to stop but the person didn't stop. She checked the time and it was just 6:55am
Who could be knocking my door? She thought. She sat on the bed looking around for any cloth that she could put on, then her phone beeped showing a message. She took her phone to check, it was a message from her bank wishing her Happy birthday. She hissed, dropped her phone, she put on a sleeveless top with bum short.
Walking to the door was so tiring for Irene. She opened the door and it was......
" Surprise!!!!!" Her friends shouted .
She hissed and entered the living room.
"Why are you such a sadist Ireoluwa" Aanu one of her friends said while Ifeoma her other friend dropped the cake on the table
"Sadist keh, you guys just disturbed my beautiful sleep knowing fully well that my Saturdays are for rest". She replied
"Look at this girl, as if we didn't wake up early to surprise you. Girl, whose Saturday is not for rest". Ifeoma said
"Don't mind her o, she's just being......." The sound of the door bell interrupted Aanu
Irene stood up to answer the door and .......
"Surprise!!!!" Maxwell, her only sibling with Tolani, his girlfriend and friends said and then one of them began to play the saxophone.
"Is it that you guys don't have work" she entered the living room and sat on the sofa.
After playing saxophone, everyone echoed.....
"Happy birthday".
"Okay, I hope you guys are satisfied with all these surprises, can you leave while I go back to bed". Irene said.
"My beautiful sister, it's your birthday, you have to be Happy even if you don't like birthday celebration at least do it for people who came this early to celebrate genuinely with you". Maxwell said.
Irene looked at him for a while like trying to figure something out...
"Alright then what do you guys want to do for the almighty birthday celebration". She said
"Now you are talking we have a lot planned and it's all my idea even though Aanu was kinda not in support but it's......." Ifeoma's ringing tune cut her off
"Please excuse me, Aanu please take over". Ifeoma said and then she moved out
"Okay, so the guys can play games while we ladies go to the kitchen to cook something delicious". Aanu concluded.

"Ermm, Tolani since we are almost done cooking, go meet your babe, we will do the rest". Aanu said
Tolani smiled knowing fully well that they wanted to discuss, she left the kitchen.
"Iffy, talk to us. What are you up to with all these secret calls?" Aanu asked.
"It's nothing". Ifeoma replied.
"It's nothing? Iffy we are your friends o. If anything should happen we are the first set of people that will be called onto". Aanu said.
"Actually, it's not you guys, it's my husband. And I said it's nothing". Ifeoma said.
Irene chuckled and said, "Ouch, that hurt. Now it is your husband abi. Anyway, Aanu let her be if she wants to share something with us she will share out of her own Will".
"I was just being caring. That's all". Aanu defended.
"Let's go. I'm done dishing ". Irene said pointing to the door.
