epigrams stitched into a rhyming sweater

a bike starts— in the oak, an owl, dying.

go gently, gently into that good night.

if you can't, then don't. never die trying.

tuck yourself in the dying of the light.

passivity is a passive pleasure

but activity is an active pain.

quarantined in freedom, can you measure

life's random calculus of loss and gain?

the parts are everything. there is no whole.

long as you're small in a big world you're free.

the crow continues the telephone pole.

the bird is an extension of the tree.
