Fearless Returns ~Book Seven in the Color Series~

Chapter 14

"I love you Leonardo."

I said in a happy tone.

"I love you too Isabelle."

He returned the happy gesture before disappearing out the window.

After soaking in the bathtub for about an hour I finally got out and slipped on the clothes Leo had laid out for me. I smiled slightly at his clothing choice. Dark gray shorts that would be very inappropriate to wear out in public, a thin long sleeve baby blue tee shirt semi low cut in the front, my hair was thrown up into a sloppy bun on the top of my head.

I looked in the mirror and smirked when I saw the line of hickeys on my neck, shaking my head slightly before walking back out of the bathroom.

I let out a sigh as I walked into the kitchen, grabbing a cup from the cabinet. Just as I pulled one down I heard a soft knock on my door, raising a brow in confusion I wasn't expecting anyone.

Placing the glass on the counter I let my bare feet padding against the floor, my hand hesitantly landed on the door knob. When I opened the door I was shocked to see Matthew standing in the doorway with a single red rose in his hand.

"Matthew what are you doing here?"

I asked opening the door more so that I could see all of him. He had on a faded pair of jeans and a plain gray tee shirt. His hair was styled perfectly, a sideways grin laid on his lips, and his brown eyes were cold.

"Do you mind if I come in?"

He sounded so polite that all I could do was nod my head and moved to the side so that he could walk in here. I was still perplexed on the fact that he knew where I lived. I watched him carefully as I shut the door, he laid the rose down on the small table next to the door.

"Why are you here Matthew?"

I asked again as I took a few steps back as I watched him look around before his eyes landed on me. I froze in my track my body turning numb when his cold eyes landed on me, I had only received a look like that from one other person. Nathan.

"What's wrong Isabelle? I just came to see if you changed your mind. You know, about you not wanting to be in a relationship?"

Even his voice sounded cold, panic filled as thought about the mistake I had just made. I looked over out of the corner of my eye at the panic button Leo had showed me.

I was so caught up in debating weather I should hit the button or not that I jumped when I heard the lock on the door click. I turned my attention back to the man in front of me and saw him stepping closer to me.

"Actually Matthew, my boyfriend and I worked things out."

I slowly slid my way over to the counter as I tried to distract him, by having a conversation with him. He chuckled and motioned his arm towards my neck.

"I can see that, but I really have to ask you a question."

I felt my cheeks turn red at that statement causing me to bring my arm up and try to his the spots. He was only about an inch away from me now and I was still about five feet from the button.

"What?"

I decide to play along with his conversation hoping to buy myself some time.

"Why does a beautiful girl like you choose to be with a freak like Leonardo?"

His smirk turned evil and I felt anger build inside of me. I knew that he had to work for the foot, there was no other way he could know about Leo. I was still in a little but of shock so it took me minute to realize whtat he had placed a hand on my shoulder.

"I think you need to leave."

I said firmly as I shoved him away from me. He chuckled and shoved me back, a lot hard so that I hit the wall behind me. The impact had knocked the breath out of me causing me to become momentarily dazed.

"I'm not ready to leave. Not until I get what I came here for."

He places both his hands on either side of my face caging me in between him and the wall. His breath cascaded down my neck as he stared down at me. Finally I had regained myself enough that I was able to stomp on his foot, when he lowered his face a little from pain I was able to head butt him. He stumbled backwards causing a gap to open up between the two of us.

I tried to run to the panic button almost reaching it, but I felt him grab my arm just before my fingers could reach it. Matthew pulled me into him, holding onto my arm so tight that I let out a slight yelp of pain, right before he smashed his lips on mine.

It was forceful making me panic even more I punched his chest and tried to pull my head back, but he used his hand to hold me still. He used his tongue to pry my lips apart, aggressively shoving his tongue inside my mouth . I knew that this was my only shot out.

I sharply bit down on his tongue hard enough that I could taste his blood in my mouth. He groaned in pain and pulled away from me, taking the opportunity I brought my leg up and kicked him in the stomach.

He fell on his back hard and before I could catch my breath I sprinted to the counter, slamming my hand against the button, pressing it frantically.  I looked back down over my shoulder but not enough time.

I felt his hand grip tight in the back of my head, his fingers wrapping around my hair. In one swift movement he slammed my forehead into the counter.

"You little bitch!"

I could barley make out what he was saying, my mind spinning around as I felt myself slump forward. The impact of the floor didn't even seem real as the world a round me as my eye fluttered shut.

What I didn't know was that I even though I had signaled for help, help would not come to me for another 15 minutes.
