Mrs. Jeager was washing the dishes while Eren and Armin were talking about the outside world again.
Mrs. Jeager: I wonder why is (Y/N) and Mikasa taking so long. Mikasa must miss him a lot, It's been hours...
As if on cue, there was a knock on the front door. Carla looked out the window to see Mikasa and (Y/N) on the front door, (Y/N) knocking on the door again
(Y/N): Hello~ Anyone here?
Carla rushes towards the door, confusing Armin and Eren, and opens it, revealing Mikasa and (Y/N) holding hands. Mrs. Jeager was happy to see them finally together. After all this time. She was glad to see Mikasa happy again, she wasn't the same since they thought (Y/N) died. But, turns out, all they needed. Was a little bit of time
Flashback to when they arrived at Wall Rose
It was a day after the Fall of Wall Maria. Mikasa decided to stay at the abandoned warehouse while Mrs. Jeager and Eren go out to find food. She was still in denial.... she didn't truly believe that (Y/N) is dead
A few days later
Mrs. Jeager managed to find a new home for them. Mikasa was in her room, pain and guilt overwhelming her... she just wanted the pain to end. She felt guilty that she didn't even manage to save the last person to make her truly happy. Her parents and (Y/N) were the only people who managed to make her truly happy
Days later
Anger. Anger was all she felt. Mikasa was angry at herself. Why you may ask. Well, it's because she was angry at herself. Angry that she was useless (In her eyes) and Angry that she couldn't do anything about it. Just like before. She couldn't save her parents. And now, she couldn't save (Y/N)
Timeskip
Alone. Mikasa was currently alone in her room. She did nothing. Just.... staring at the ceiling...
She was asking herself
Why?
Why did everyone she love have to die?
Why can't she be the one to die and not them?
Should she love again?
Would that new person she loves die again?
Should she be ashamed of loving again?
What would (Y/N) think?
And many more. She was doubting herself
A few years later
She was still hurting. But not like before. Mikasa loves (Y/N) too much to let herself die. If she did, his sacrifice would go to waste. So, she continued to live. Sure, she still cries from time to time. But she finally accepted his death
Present
Armin: Congrats!
Eren: Yeah! You guys are meant to be!!
Eren and Armin said, making the new young couple blush deep crimson. Carla just laughs at her kid's actions. She treats all of them like her own. At night, (Y/N) and Mikasa are currently cuddled up in Mikasa's bed. There was a comfortable silence filling the room. Soon enough, the two of them fell into a deep slumber. In each other's arms...... turns out. All they needed to heal.... was Time
