Lena's POV

After I had introduced myself to the officer, all I could do was stare. She was so beautiful. And her uniform made her look so sexy. When I realized what I was doing, I stopped myself.

"Sorry, um, did you want to ask me some questions?"

"Uh, yeah." She said sitting down across from me at the table. "So you...you, um, called the police, right?"

"Yeah, I did. About 20 minutes ago I'd say." I was still shaken up by what I had heard and seen, and I knew that she was about to ask me to tell her about it, and I would have to relive it all.

"C-could you, uh, just tell me what happened?" She asked.

"Sure, officer. I-"

"Stef." She interrupted. "You can call me Stef." She said, nervously.

"Oh, ok. Well um, Stef, I was heading out to do some grocery shopping and when I got to the lobby, the man who lives right near me in apartment 1-20 was at the front desk. He was, um, he was holding a gun, uh, to the man who runs the front desk here, and-"

"Craig." She said, knowing the name of the secretary.

"Yeah, how'd you know that?" I asked.

"I live here. Fifth floor." She replied.
My eyes widened.

"Wow, uh, really? I've never seen you here before now." I replied. Something inside me was so happy that she lived here, too.

"I don't think I've seen you either, but it's really nice seeing you now." She smiled a huge smile and then stopped herself. "Sorry." She said. "Back to business. So you saw this guy holding a gun to Craig. Do you know why?"

"I have no idea." I said "But when I saw what was happening, I yelled Craig's name. He always been such a good friend to me. When I did this, the man with the gun turned around and he...he pointed it....h-he pointed it at me." A single tear fell from my eye.

"It's ok, Lena. Take a minute." She said to me, noticing my pain. She seemed really sincere.

I breathed in and out and continued my story, still tearing up.

"He um...he threatened me for a little while. Craig was still frozen with his hands up. He finally started to get up and he picked up the phone, probably to call the police. But when the guy...when the guy heard him...he turned back and pointed his gun at Craig again. That's when I ran. I ran back to my room, picked up my phone, and called 911."

"And what exactly did you say to the person who answered the phone?" She asked, handing me a tissue to wipe my tears. She was so kind.

"Well, um, I told them that there was a man with a gun at Central Apartments, and then I heard shots and so I told them that I had just heard to gun shots, too."

"Ok, and have you been in here ever since?" She asked.

"Yes." I said. "The man must've threatened Craig to move outside and shot into the air...? I don't know." I said apologetically.

"Well, don't worry about that, that's for us to figure out."
I smiled at her.
"Now, do you know of any other witnesses? Anyone living with you maybe?" She asked.

"N-no." I said. "I live alone."

After I said this, she glanced over to where there was a bed which was clearly for two people. There were two pillows, and two bedside tables each with different belongings on them. I realized that she was confused, because it looked like someone was living with me.

"Oh." I said. "There used to be someone living here. My girlfriend. She left me, um, about a month ago. I-I, um, I still haven't cleaned out any of her stuff. I can't. It's too hard to do." I said sadly.

"Girlfriend? You're-"
"Gay, yeah." I finished her question with my answer.

A slight smile took over her face, and I wasn't sure how to take it. I must've looked confused, because she said,

"Sorry, um, I'm very sorry to hear about that."

"Thank you." I replied. She could definitely tell I was still shaken up.

"Are you gonna be ok?" She asked. "I don't want you to be, well, alone like this."

"Yeah, I-I'll be fine I think, thanks."

"Ok, well I'm gonna head back to the station. My captain might want you to come down for more questions, just to get the story straight, you know?" She sighed. I continued,

"...I can pick you up and bring you if he requests that."

"Um yeah, that'd be great." I was so nervous around her. She knew I was gay, so she definitely was picking up on the fact that I was kind of into her.

"Do you, um, do you want my number? Just so you can, you know, let me know if your Captain wants me in." I asked.

"Yeah, that'd be great!" She said. With the hints she was giving, I thought maybe she was into me too...but she definitely wasn't gay.

She handed me her phone and I put my number in. When I gave it back to her, she said,

"Well I'll let you know. Thanks again for answering my questions. I know it was hard." She put her hand on my arm for comfort, and a chill ran up my spine. Her touch felt so good.

"Thank you, for keeping us all safe." I said.

"No problem. It's my duty." She winked, and my heart melted. "I'll see you later, Lena. Maybe tonight when I get home!" She laughed and so did I.

"Bye, Stef. See you later." I smiled.

She opened my door and left. I stood, smiling at the door. She was so beautiful and so kind. Honestly, I wanted to go back to the station, just to see her. But one thought ruined it: 'She's not gay.'

-----------
Stef's POV

I got back to the station, and all I could think about was Lena.

"Hey Foster, your perp is in the interrogation room with Doug. We're gettin somewhere. Did you talk to the witness?" Asked my Captain

"Yeah I did. You want her to come down for more questioning, right?" I asked. I wanted Lena to come in, because I wanted to see her.

"Well, let me see your notes."
He read them over for a couple of minutes and said, "I think this is all we need, Foster. Nice work."

"Are you sure? I warned her that she might have to come down and she said she's all for it." I said, trying to persuade him to want Lena to come down here.

"You seem like you want her to...something you're not telling me Foster?"
I tensed up.

"No, uh, sorry. I'll be in my office." I said.

"Alright. Doug may need your help so you might want to check in with him first."

"Will do, Cap." I said walking towards the interrogation room.
I was mad. I just wanted to see Lena again. Something about her presence just made me light up, inside and out. And I couldn't just call her or text her, because wouldn't that be considered unprofessional? I didn't know. And I couldn't go back to her apartment, either. She had just gone through a rough break up, and so had I. I couldn't bother her more than I had to. Maybe I'd see her around our building.

But for now, I would just think about her and all of her beauty. But it was weird to think all these thoughts of love about her, because I'm not gay....am I?
